Introductions are always awkward.

I'm Jules. I write stories, poems and dialogues. I'm going to UEA next school year. I like magic realism and surrealism. I suck at realism--innately so. I also own a tumblr for my poetry, buuut I'd guess that plugging it right after barely joining wouldn't be the right thing to do. I'm friendly enough.

I actually just posted a poem.

I'm going to treat this as a question. Magic realism on a simplified sense is a genre in which magic is familiarised within a realistic setting. But this popular definition is seriously flawed. Magic realism is a genre that stretches and questions the limitations of reality. As for which books... 100 years of solitude, Satanic Verses, Nights at the Circus, Kafka on the shore, etc...

Thanks for checking the poem!

Hi there Julian!
Ahh, so that is magic realism :) (fun fact - Satanic Verses is banned in my country. XD)
I look forward to reading you works!
Feel free to post on my wall if you need a review or anything!

Greetings my friend! Tell me, does magic realism extend only to traditional magic?
You know that studded leather armour in films? Nobody wore that. I mean, how would metal studs improve leather armour?
