With a heavy heart, I inform you about the demise of my beautiful specs frame (the lens is intact). For a few months there, I was like a butterfly in the sun. I was pretty regardless of whether I wore glasses or not. But now I'll have to return to those ugly frames that are supposedly more sturdy than my pretty blue glass frame. But regardless of its weak constitution, it served me with beauty and grace and filled my days with self-confidence. As a kid, I was always embarrassed to wear my glasses because I never looked good in them. But my pretty blue frame filled me with self-confidence since the first time I put it on, and since then we have been inseparable. As it always happens, the good things fall apart too soon. I'll be going into a week-long mourning over my beloved frame, the loss of which I feel most deeply.

I always imagined us living together happily ever after. But alas, what are dreams made of if not ashes of half-written stories and sweet what-ifs. Au revoir, mon amie...

I have recently been getting into the Game of Thrones universe (yes, i am one of the rare few who missed it during the show's peak) I have started with the first book in A Song of Ice and Fire series and simultaneously watching the HBO House of Dragons. The books are easily one of the best-written fantasy series I have ever read (and i have read a good few). Every chapter is a great story in itself, every page a page-turner, the characters so interesting, the world-building so complex and multi-layered. I am truly in awe.

P.S.- Btw as much as I love the stories, the violence and gore in House of the Dragons really forces me to look away from the screen often enough.

This is how it feels returning to YWS after a long while.
