Nic opens his eyes to find Spinx trapped in the blue energy. Rayah is beside him. "I'm fine." He says. "She isn't struggling yet." He glances back at his brother ...

"Really what?" He asks, smiling.

Jace has her kiss him on the lips, and laughs a little.

Jace smiles at Rayah and looks where she is looking, watching the energy shoot off towards Spinx. My sense of time seriously must be messed up...I thought I saw Nic ...

Jace reaches for his drink too but stops himself, questioning his decision to have a few more shots.

A laugh escapes Jace's lips and he clamps his free hand over it, his cheeks reddening. He didn't want Rayah to be sorry. She did help. He just drank too ...

Jace regains some sort of clarity but still feels slightly intoxicated, bubbly again.

Hurt? He isn't quite sure what she thinks could be hurting him. He shakes his head, throwing everything off again. The room spins for a few seconds before steadying.

Rayah's voice sounds watery to Jace, fading in and out. He catches one of the questions she asks. "I can see fine...It's processing that I have trouble with." He says.

Is she smiling at me? The boy takes a sip of the whiskey and looks behind him for a moment, making sure that his pursuers weren't on his case again.

"I-it's hard to think." He says aloud.

Oh, Jace's eyes dart to his brother as a shot of navy blue is thrown from him.

How do you know how I feel? He smiles with her.

"I'll have a whiskey." The boy orders, glancing at the girl out of the corner of his eyes. She seems familiar to him, but no memories surface.
