Nic stands in front of Jace defensively and looks to Rayah, wondering if she would fight for them all too.

Nic composed himself and stood. "I'm not leaving Jace." he says.

Jace glances at Rayah, thankful. Gotcha.

Jace swallows at the mention of his mother, looking down.

"I didn't know he was gonna get shot!" Jace exclaims.

"What test?" Jace reasks the question, unfazed by the Satyr.

"Ahh!" Nic trips over his own foot and falls to the ground, awestruck by the creature at the bar.

The boy watches the girl leave and swallows down the rest of his drink, ordering another. "Did you say something about a dragonscale sword?" He asks the bartender.

"What test?" Nic asks.

Jace steals her drink and downs it all, needing it.

Jace's jaw dropped, Nic better at containing his shock.

Jace looks to Rayah, confused now too. "H-he trained you?"

"Wait," Nic says, confused, "you want us dead?"
