“… you expect me to believe that wasn’t a dig?” she asked slowly, still not sure she believed him.

Tadaaki nodded and dipped his head.

She narrowed her eyes at him, trying to determine if his playing dumb was authentic or not. It didn’t matter either way, though. She didn’t plan to take his bait. ...

She gave him an irritable glance and then looked away. Asshole.

He was doing this on purpose. Bringing the secrets into it. She shrank and glanced away, unamused. There was no reason for him to make a dig like that. None ...

“Oh.” Tadaaki nodded. “And do you… enjoy that?”

Ky blushed and didn’t respond.

“Understandable.” Tadaaki nodded. “I’m glad to hear that at least… what is your role here? If-if you don’t mind talking about it, sir.”

“What bedroom?”

Ky glanced at him and ducked her head. She hadn’t mentioned it. It wasn’t her place. “Oh…” Tadaaki hesitated. “I’m sorry to hear that.”

“That doesn’t make sense,” she grumbled, but obeyed. She didn’t buy that it was going to look right once they were down there.
