“Mm… maybe so,” she agreed mildly, even though she didn’t actually agree. She shrugged. “I’ve no desire to find out, though.”

“Yes ma’am.” Ky inclined her head. “Hopefully not. I’m sure… that would cause… quite the upset.”

“Yeah.” She nodded. “So they’re not good grandparents. You can’t be a good grandparent if you’re not a good parent.”

“On that side.” She shrugged.

“Of course.” She inclined her head. “It’s good to have your bases covered in case they wake up.”

Ky glanced back at her. So… not religious? “No doubt.”

“Yeah.” She nodded. “He said that they were very kind and loving. And everyone in town seemed to love their memory, too. They seemed like wonderful people.”

Ky nodded. Omnipotent and all powerful and yet entirely unhelpful. “Makes sense.”
