Jerica nodded, brushing her fly-away hairs off her forehead. Her ponytail never quite seemed to stay put like it was supposed to.

“Huh… yeah they don’t sound nice. Best not to keep them around.”

“Are they large?”

“No.” She shook her head. “Why?”

She shrugged. “Some things aren’t meant to be.”

“I… feel like they would be.” A week was hardly long enough to be a fair shot at training one.

“They’re cool!” Jerica grinned. “The males bite a lot but the females aren’t so bad they only scratch a little if you pick them up.” Which had been her downfall. ...
