Jerica strode out into the hall then hesitated, realizing she didn't know where to go.

Jerica was used to cooks being annoyed with her. She basically never stopped eating. Ever. She ate the Royal Meals. Sometimes ate in the barracks, too, since they served breakfast ...

"You can eat that?" she asked incredulously.

"I don't know what lichen is," she huffed. She didn't like admitting ignorance, but she damn sure wasn't going to eat moldy bread so she wasn't touching the stuff if ...

Jerica furrowed her brow, not at all enjoying anything about this interaction. Clearly the guard knew what the fuck was going on. She certainly didn't. She looked at the soldier ...

" Why is it green?" She was too hung up on the color to care about choosing the topping.

Jerica furrowed her brow, looking at it closer. "It's supposed to be green?"

"It's green clear through," Jerica argued. She wasn't stupid ; she could see it as plain as day.

"Either is fine." She furrowed her brow at the bread as the cook set it on a small plate. "It's moldy."

"Thank you." Jerica glanced at them. "Do you... have anything to put on them? If not it's fine."

"Do you have... like... bread? Or like... pastries? Or... something good?"

"Um... hi," Jerica said to who she guessed was a cook. "Can I... have... a snack? I'm not too particular."

Jerica followed close behind, chin raised and shoulders squared.

"Then I'd like that, please."
