“Night.” Ky nodded to her and watched her go, then stepped into the hall herself and took a step towards the library.

“…I’m open to suggestions,” he said gruffly, not wanting to admit he was as out of practice on offensive spells as he was the rest of the charms.

Ky grimaced sympathetically. She suspected the same would be true of her moving forward, now that she’d woken up to Michael standing over her. A chill ran down her spine.

“Makes sense.” He nodded.

She furrowed her brow. “Why?”
