“That’s good.” She nodded, still feeling guilty. He probably hated her for lying. She got the door and held it for Gaius.

“…oh…” she grimaced. “How’d he take it?”

“Yep.” She nodded. “Does it have four legs or two?” Rifkin asked. “Only yes or no questions,” Talia reminded. “Does it have four legs?” Ky ventured. “Yes.”

She got an uneasy feeling. “…about?”

“You don’t have to follow me,” she pointed out. In fact, she’d like if he didn’t. Though she doubted he was going to leave her alone. (How’s dog sitting?)

“Ah… yeah, that makes sense.” She nodded, deciding not to offer that that’s where he liked to frequent. Gaius didn’t need to worry about that.
