“That’s so bizarre.” Talia furrowed her brow.

“I’ve already left that behind.” She shrugged, crossing her arms. “I’ve no love for this life; why would I want to prolong it after I can’t interact with my family ...

“Wait, so he’d never met the man?”

“Don’t you just stop existing entirely?” Ky asked. “I don’t need comfort; I just want a break.”

She shrugged. “I don’t care… but I promised Tomhas I won’t try to speed it up so I guess I won’t… but hopefully I’ll be home anyway. Not buried here.”

Ky hesitated, then shook her head. “…Probably not, actually. I guess it doesn’t matter, then.”

Ky rubbed her abdomen despite herself. “…I guess I won’t have to think about them much since I won’t have to change once I’m dead…”

She shook her head with a heavy sigh. “I don’t want them.”

“No… they’re reminders of Aleth’s hands all over me.” She sighed and rubbed her face. “He gets to haunt me for eternity.”

Ky huffed and leaned back with a pout. “Goddamn it.”

“Why would he do such a thing?”

(Hah!) Ky nodded, then hesitated, laying a hand over her abdomen. “Wait, do you have to keep… scars? Too? When you die?”
