“And the new children,” Rana pointed out. “Loquitur has two new ones, according to Father.”

Rana nodded. "How long has it been since you've been up there?"

"I've heard he's proud of it," Rana said with a nod. "I'm looking forward to seeing it."

Rana wrinkled her nose. "Wonderful."

Rana stood up and began digging through some of the other nearby couches. "I doubt either of them will set foot outside once it gets even remotely cold."

"...I don't know," Rana admitted. "I've only briefly seen her without him since. And that was when she was warn... well... when we were... talking about... something else... but Lia ...

Rana nodded emphatically, glad to have Shea on her side. "Completely ridiculous. He's lost his mind."

She shook her head sourly. "And then got mad at me for being surprised."

Rana shrugged. "No idea. I didn't know I was going two hours ago. Maybe three. And we're leaving tomorrow."

Rana shrugged, expression glum and unconvincing. "Yeah."

Rana nodded. “You like him, then? He’s decent?”

“Oh! You’re going too?” Rana visibly relaxed at that.

Rana shrugged, not quite looking at them. “My reasonable clothes are probably all packed already anyway…”
