Whisper Spring hears voices in the forest right before meeting a strange boy.

Whisper doesn't have a house; she has a mansion, and that mansion is pretty strange right off the bat.

Whisper and her family labor to make their manor house habitable, while finding out all sorts of strange things.

Whisper puts on an impressive performance at tryouts, then returns to hear more strange voices emanating from the forest.

Whisper's life gets stranger as she begins to have unusual dreams.

Whisper finally gets to go on an expedition into the forest, which hints and more strangeness to come.

Whisper starts school, much to her frustration. She has to deal with the confinement of a classroom.
