Yeah, you know how I said I was going to write more Lyrical? Sorry about that...
I actually (honest confession here) haven't really worked on Lyrical in over a year, and at this point, I don't know if I ever will continue it. It wasn't that I didn't know where I was going with it-- the first thing I did when I started writing it was make an exact timeline of the story, beginning to end. However, I never really got emotionally attatched to it in the way I had to some of my other stories.
I recently realized that, as sweet as the story is, and as much as I love Annie and Michael (because I do!), there's a lot about their story that I did really like. Certain things felt rushed or surreal, and certain characters were too cliche or shallow. And there were certain (MAJOR) parts of the story that just seemed very unrealistic.
So I'm not planning on writing more of that story anytime soon. When--IF-- I do continue it, it will only be after some serious work on the storyline, and the current chapters will probably be rewritten.
In the meantime, I've started posting a new story, called "How To Say No" (that's a working title that I will probably change at some point).
Honestly, it's probably the darkest thing I've ever written, but I really like it.
The idea for it actually came to me in a dream (admittedly, the weirdest dream I've ever had-- but not by much. I have bizarre dreams.). It's about a totally normal, average girl-- with a VERY dark secret. I don't have the whole story outlined the way I did with Lyrical, but I do know several of the major plot points. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up a regular posting with this schedule with this one (probably not), but I DO plan to finish it-- whether that takes a year or five or ten.
Anyways, please check it out!
(PS: While I don't plan on writing anything sexually explicit in the story, it does deal with a lot of mature themes, so I've rated it 16+ for mature content.)
