About FredrikGjerdingen

Hi.

My name is Fredrik, and i come from a small town with 14 000 inhabitants called Drøbak. I grew up in this town and as my parents owned a kindergarten, i was always home (the kindergarten was in our basement). i got an interest for books at an early age through my mom who read all kinds of stories for me before i went to sleep. I would have been a fast learner when it comes to learning how to read, but when i started on school something happened. One of my classmates became obsessed with me, and in his eyes i wasn't allowed to play with anyone but him. Of course seeing as this was a violent individual, i kept my distance. But you can't hide forever, and i was sick of being picked on by him and then go play with my friends behind the school. I wanted to play on the playground equipment just as much as the next kid. Then right after easter i decided to stick up for my self and play with my friends in the playground. It didn't go so well, and Joakim started chasing me around the playground. when we got to a long concrete stair, he pushed me. I broke my femur and it was a high possibility that my leg would be several centimeters longer than the other. I got really depressed and this halted my reading process a bit. I couldn't read properly until i was 8 years old. And it was a teacher who got me to read. She was also the one that encouraged me to write. I often got to write a story instead of doing the actual assignment, and often, if it was any good, she would read it out loud in the class. She started talking to my parents about the possibility of me working with books or literature. When i changed to middle school, my passion for books and writing really awoke. My mom was encouraging me to write anything and my English and Norwegian teachers encouraged me to write as much as i could. Now I'm in High School and my mom and dad have separated. It's OK though. I have gotten used to it. Anyways...
thats how i got into both writing and reading.

to those of you reading this:
May your stories always give you a rush of joy and a sense of excitement. May your writing give you that sense of accomplishment we all seek, and so rarely find. May your pen never be far away, and your computer always in your lap.
Read on! Write on!
