TikTok Ban: Okay, this app's been banned for 14 hours... Well, at least it lasted longer than South Korea's Martial Law. I totally understand all the people who are mad or disappointed that tiktok got unbanned. What I DONT understand is how you can be so hypocritical. If you're worried about tiktok because of Chinese interference and manipulation, well... The CEO's singaporean, and they even distanced themselves from china bc TikTok is an alternative version of the Chinese app Duoyin. It's like chinese people saying they won't play Minecraft Chinese edition because Minecraft is an American game even though it's from Sweden.
If on the other had, you were dissapointed because of the negative effects that Tiktok has on the children... Bro, banning a single app isn't the solution. What congress has done wasn't solving a problem, but instead giving in to the lobbying that's been happening. Instead of banning all access to shortform content, or restricting it, they simply banned one app because lizard-man Zuckerburg lobbied with millions of dollars for it to happen. Instagram Reels and Youtube Shorts have exploded in popularity, and banning TikTok won't resolve the problem. In fact, Red Note, a tiktok alternative that is ACTUALLY Chinese, has exploded in popularity to be the #1 App in the App store (I can't make this shiz up) and this is all a fever dream at this point.
Now, to be fair... The people who were saying "this is the end of democracy" and stuff are all nut cases. No, just banning an app isn't gonna be the death of you. Sure, it just sends more precedence for the fact that Congress is made up of a bunch of senile, low-key dementia ridden at most semi-qualified members who will be willing to do super duper extremely hypocritical things for money and bribes which calls the democracy of the USA into question... But give as much damn to this as you would a random guy stealing toilet paper. Sure, it's bad but... You're a karen if you overreact.

Trump: Bro, stop overreacting. Yes, this will be a shitfest. Yes, I should've done a curse-words warning. But, Project 2025 is literally stupid and it can't happen because we literally have half the nation against such BS like that. The reason Kamala lost wasn't because people were racist. It's because they wanted to go back to normal after covid, and despite Trump's absolute fuckery of a handling of the virus; Inflation and all the bad stuff hit when Biden was in office, and the democratic party took the blame because people can't seem to realize their actions have consequences. We just have to deal with the fact that we will be living the next 4 years under a grossly underqualified president who will take credit for the economic plans biden put in place because the concept of time, is a lie i guess.
Trump will be a threat to democracy... about the same level as Yun SUCK Yeol was. He will just be a president like any other (although with a felony record), and he will make racist remarks and cause the news to go wild again. However, Trump does have some genuinely decent policies that he's proposing (if you look over the wall of hatred) and I hope he will do the right thing. Although, I may be revoked of my F-1 Visa the very day he gets into office, in which case he's the worst president ever.
