Most Poetic Books You've Ever Read

Title says it all, What is the most poetic and well written books you've ever read? Regardless of the plot. These/This book should've made the words just roll right off the page, jumping outwards at you, sucking you in. Beautiful Imagery, strong and deep emotion, something that just conveys more than anything else. The character's aren't plastic, the worlds not for the characters, but around them. Just anything magical, something that tells you a story, not something you read!

In all of my reading, I've never seen anything that really conveys deep, long lasting emotion you won't forget past five minutes. The words are always plain and flavorless, flat and colorless. I want to know the things that turn your mind into a canvas and twist your world until it's unrecognizable. Not big words, but beautiful ones.

I have really liked how Joanne Harris wrote in Chocolat.

Another favourite is A.S.Byatt's Possession. I loved the intricacies of characters' developments and the poetic metaphors.

And something that struck within me, not a very definable emotion, nevertheless a wonderful read : Siddhartha Mukherjee's The Emperor of All Maladies

I think 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Houssini is an incredibly beautifully written book. I also think '19 Minutes', 'My Sister's Keeper', 'The 10th Circle' and 'House Rules' by Jodi Picoult are all gorgeously written.

True Confessions of a Heartless Girl by Martha Brooks.

Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf. Incredible writing.
