It's hard to be anything

To all the homosexuals, bisexuals, heterosexuals who understand this.

It's hard to be a lesbian sometimes
when you hear that you are a sin.
God hates homosexuals,
and you should be dead.
That's why I stopped believing.
I read the Bible once.
He said that he loved us all.
We shouldn't cast judgement on each other.
We are all meant to love thine neighbor.
If all we need is love,
then why am I cast out?

It's hard to be black sometimes
when rocks are being thrown.
I have bruises and scars
but Daddy can't see them.
I'm lucky that my skin is dark.
I punched someone for calling me an Oreo.
They just don't understand.
If there's no segregation,
then why am I still beaten?

It's hard to be a woman sometimes
when you're stuck in the kitchen.
This isn't the dark ages, but we act like it.
I once worked hard in school
and studied until I slept.
I hated it but I had a dream.
"You're a girl," my teacher said.
"You're supposed to get married, not read books."
"Books will rot your uterus."
If sexism is wrong, then why crush my dream?

It's hard to be a teenager sometimes
when all you hear is how horrible they are.
I want to help my parents out
and get a job to pay them back.
I can't because I'm a teenager.
I do the best I can
with the laborous jobs I have.
People think I'm lazy,
but I try to prove them what I am.
If we are supposed to better ourselves,
then why won't they let me try?

It's hard to be alive sometimes
when thinking about the shit we live with.
Hate flows like rivers
and the KKK lives again.
It's hard to hear the protests
when you're afraid to get out of bed.
Most battles have been fought.
I suppose it's our time to shine.

(A/N: This hasn't been edited, just something on my mind. I didn't mean for all the God refrences, but eh. Too late now. Don't get on me about it, I know there are enough Christians who like us but hey, my poem!)

Could work! Keep fighting and don't give up! God loves you no matter what, you may not have the choice to be gay or lesbian, but you do have the choice to act on it or not! Still great poem! I loved it! No matter how people try to stop you, just remember, there is always a way!
Review unto others as you would have others review unto you.

Don't panic!

Awesome sauce! I completely get what you mean, I feel like this all the time. God says he loves everyone, but you there are so many wrong predjudaces. I totaly loved this! Great job!! :D
So many people treat you like you’re a kid
so you might as well act like one,
and throw your television
out of a hotel window.

I really loved this and there was some amazing imagery here. I like how it focused on race, sexuality, age, and gender. The whole purpose was amazing. It wouldn't surprise me if some Christians want to bash you for the first stanza, but the way I see it, it's in the point of view of one person. It isn't speaking for every homosexual out there. When I first read it, I thought it was about different people, but when I read it again, i realized that it could be the same person. I really liked that. This was fabulous! Keep writing.

Hey, this was great, I did notice a few mistakes while I was reading, but now I can't find them again... :D Sorry. I really don't have a good review to give you, because this is great just how it is. There is so much judgement in the world, and that's just how people. This had so much emotion and was thought provoking. I am a Christian, but it wasn't offensive. There are Christians who judge too much, and sometimes judgement is necessary, but not before even getting to know someone and not without cause. I agreed with this poem, for the most part. But as for the writing, it was beautifully done. Great job.
