Sauna spider, sauna spider,
Sitting on the floor,
I didn’t see you waiting there
As I walked through the door.

Sauna spider, sauna spider,
If only I had known,
I might have had to stifle a scream
And out of here I’d have flown.

But oh, sauna spider,
It seems you’re unaware,
You’re sat inside a sauna, spider,
And you don’t seem to care.

Sauna spider, can’t you see?
There is just shiny tile,
Smooth surfaces and me,
Have you been here for a while?

Sauna spider, sauna spider,
I have something to say
And if only you could understand,
That would really make my day.

You see, I’d love to help you out
As it’s so hot in this room
You must be suffering my friend,
Working hard to spin your loom.

Sauna spider, don’t you know?
Your efforts are in vain.
There are no flies, no life at all,
Your energy will begin to wane.

Sauna spider, sauna spider,
There’s nothing here for you.
I really must be leaving now
And I think that you should, too.
Matt.

Ah, this was really cute. The rhythm in the first few stanzas and in the last couple are really good though you seemed to have lost it a bit in the middle. I think if you changed a couple words around it would be a quick fix. I think the subject matter was really good as well, its a unique topic that enlightens the reader of other objects' perspectives. Nicely done =]

Hi, Isha here to review! ^^

And, Matty, this was just plain cute in an almost-morbid sort of way. Or something like that, anyways (by the way, I totally clicked this for the title. I saw "Spider" and went for it).

So, first of all, major bonus points for writing a for-fun sounding poem that still contained an air of seriousness and a rhyming scheme that actually sounded decent! xD (Why yes, this is turning into a nonsense review. Don't mind me, but I felt a very strong urge to comment. Review day bug and whatnot. =|)

So, seriously, I'm not entirely sure of what else to say. xD Obviously, you're my new hero for writing a sympathy poem to a spider. (Plus a rhyme-scheme that didn't sound fake and forced. Which is shocking, considering the... nonsensical vibes you get from the poem.) It was wonderful and this is fluff. ;D Now I feel guilty.

Keep Writing,
~~Ish.
Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl.

Baha... this made me giggle a little. It kind of reminded me of the poems I used to read by Shel Silverstein (remember Where the Sidewalk Ends?) with its easy, rhythmic, repetitive rhyme scheme. That, and the image of a person interacting with an animal (or in this case, an insect) really ups that childish feel, and the overall effect is adorable.

Sauna spider, sauna spider,
If only I had known,
I might have had to stifle a scream
And out of here I’d have flown.

The above is the only stanza that I found awkward, mostly because of the short second line followed by the longer third and fourth. I don't think it really needs this stanza, either; it's cute enough on its own! xP
