Through the bars of posterity,
He watched
The shallow movements of guardianship,
Watched the eternal dance of providence,
Fascinated with the accompaniment of the unexpected with the mundane:
The predictability of physical motion
With its reason for being.

Through the window of a car,
He watched
His mother wave goodbye,
Watched her drive off into the rising sun,
Kicking her nestling out of comfort and into the reality of flying.
Falling, falling, never learning,
Though successfully presenting the illusion of the opposite.

Through the lenses of his glasses,
He watched
Them approach;
His assailants with sharp tongues
And even sharper jabs to the walls of sanity,
Knowing everything they said was completely true,
Knowing the statue he molded was just as ugly to them
As it was to him.

Through tear- filled eyes,
He watched
As all hope faded with the receding light of a setting sun,
Watched as the only existing reprieve walked away,
So nonchalant, so uncaring.
Acceptance of the dissimilar,
Nonexistent.
Existence of happiness,
Impossible.

Through the fluorescent light of a bleak reality,
He watched
As the blade descended upon his wrist,
Watched as the blood began to run.
As tears of relief streaked down his face,
He said his goodbyes,
Goodbyes to a world of unforgiving hatred,
Goodbyes to a world to which he never belonged.
And as the light faded from his eyes,
The smile of evermore spread across his face,
Brightening the corpse of
An eternally damned soul.

I did like that you restrained yourself with the complex vocabulary a little more this time - it helped make the reader concentrate more on what you wanted to say through the words, instead of having to look them up in a dictionary every few lines. There was a lot of beautiful imagery and it had a consistently melancholy theme which was great; I do think you should have broken up the stanzas a little more. I know it's your style because I've been reading your work for some time now, but it is a little difficult to read at times.
Aside from that, well done, this was a really powerful piece.
Being children of a cruel reality, we fall prey to the greater powers.
To envy.
To madness.
Betrayal.
Love.
And yet without these things, we cannot remain human. Without these things, we are nothing.
But it is the greatest sacrifice. To envy. To be mad. To betray. To love.
To be human.

That is a really deep poem. Really sad too. I enjoyed reading. You had great vocabulary. At first, I was confused about what you were actually writing about, but it made sence soon. You kept to the basic idea really well, and, like I said, your word choice was excelent! I didn't really like the idea, but that really is just me, I am picky about the ideas in poems, especially when it is this emotional. And the emotion made up for it. Keep writing!
I'm the author of my own life. Unfortunately I'm writing in pen. Mistakes I make can not be erased, the only option is to turn the page and start a new chapter. <3

I'm single because God is busy writing the best love story.

When your computer deletes everything you just typed.... eternal pain.
But it's all ok because I just read this lovely poem while listening to Johnny Cash and the two went nicely together and the whole experience was really enjoyable.
I have to say I was disappointed with the last stanza. I just feel like these ideas of the world being too cruel, crying while you cut yourself and saying goodbye, being eternally damned, these are all trite. Maybe it's just because the rest of the poem made my expectations higher, but I would rethink the ending.
Everything else was really excellent. I had more to say but I forgot it all and my computer deleted my previous comment, so I apologize.
Keep up the great work.
