Ok just a quick background of this poem. My friend, Martha Shannon Reid, died in a car crash when I was in fifth grade. I was in class and decided to write a poem for her that day so this is that poem!

Sometimes in life there are narrow ways
some soft, some dark, some bright days
sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it rains
sometimes you feel good, sometimes you feel pain
some days there are bright sparks I heed
there was one certain person, she was Martha Shannon Reid
one dark rainy day she shone like a light,
but that light started to flicker with a fright
there she was in the back of a car,
she was about to fade like a dying star

This is so sweet and sad. I love the end especially. I have to compliment you on the rhyming simply because I can't rhyme for my life.
"some days there are bright sparks I heed"- Could you clarify this?
"but that light started to flicker with a fright"- I feel like the last part could be reworded.
Thanks for sharing.

oh thanks! Um I don't think I can clarify what I meant when I said

'...I heed'

as I was in fifth grade and I don't think I knew what it meant so I'm sorry haha and I also agree that lots of it could have been re worded but thanks again!!! :)

This is a very touching peice. I never knew Martha, but from what I've heard she seemed like a very sweet and kind person.

You know what the big problem is in telling fantasy and reality apart? They're both ridiculous.
