Pull out this glossy amber bench,
Sitting upon its ornate beauty
I’m sitting on top of the world.
Push back the cover, so familiar,
Feel an adrenaline rush.
I’m revealing the treasure trove.
Like pepper and salt,
So perfect together, part of one another.
The keys line up in melodious unison.
Together; forever; complete.
As I turn the page,
Set the book on its caring holder,
My fingers prance in excitement.
Itching to touch the riches;
The ivories and ebonies,
Opposites, but perfect for each other.
This instrument becomes
A part of me as I play;
Melding together in one.
I’m finally whole.
As my fingers dance,
My heart sings an accompaniment.
A note of pure joy enters my soul.
