Spoiler
I'm not the best at grammar or well, writing in general, so feel free to be nitnicky (as people say a lot on here). I appreciate it.

You’re like a painting
That is left in an attic
And no one has ever seen it
Until one day someone comes along
And puts it on the wall
And suddenly everybody loves it
But you were beautiful when you still lived in the attic

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like
If someone hadn’t picked you up
And dusted you off

And sometimes I wonder what you would be like
If I were still the only one
Who knew you
"Friends are like potatoes. If you eat them, they die."

Wow I loved your poem. It reminds me of a friend and how I was the only one who cared for him until he got an extreme makeover and it's like everyone notices him now.

And sometimes I wonder what you would be like
If I were still the only one
Who knew you

That part I can totally relate to.and this part I loved

And suddenly everybody loves it
But you were beautiful when you still lived in the attic

Overall I loved It. keep up the good work. :D

Wow. You really have a talent for poetry. Your free verse has almost flawless flow. Some nitpicky things--a lot of your lines need commas or periods at the end. A good way to figure out which ones is to write the poem out like prose, without line breaks. When you find somewhere that you would place a comma or a period in prose, you should also place it in poetry.

Also, I feel like you could extend your images a little more. The poem is organized around the central conceit of a painting (a conceit is basically an extended metaphor) which is very good, but I'd add an additional metaphor or two (much smaller ones) to give it extra staying power.

That said, when I say you have a talent for poetry, I'm not just saying that to be nice. Especially because you think you're not that good at writing--sounds like you've never had formal training? Keep writing because, though it's impossible to tell from a single poem, I think you may have what it takes.

Hi-ya!! I think you have a Brilliant poem here! Here's my comments and suggestions! Do with them what you will! They are just that, suggestions, but you are the author, and this is your work.

You’re like a painting Describe what the painting looks like, maybe in one word to keep us wondering. Ex: withered, tattered, etc.
That is left in an attic Give us a feel for what the attic is like again simply maybe one word, ex: dingy, creaky, etc.
And no one has ever seen it I'd change this to "Never seen before" or something not so forward.
Until one day someone comes along Who is this person? Give us a taste of what they are.
And puts it on the wall I'd say "And hangs it on the wall" to give more of an image.
And suddenly everybody loves it
But you were beautiful to me? when you still lived in the attic

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like
If someone hadn’t picked you up
And I was still the only one
Who knew you

I cut and combined the last two stanzas because they fit together better than alone.
Your structure and grammar is great and I love how it flows! Very Brilliant work!
If you want to be a great writer, don't think about what you're going to write, just write it.

I'm a huge fan of writers block! When your brain halts, with no direction for where you should go, it gives you threads. All you have to do is pull and unravel the story you're meant to write.

I really liked this poem, it has a lovely flow to it and I liked the emotion and the story it seems to tell. However it does need a bit more punctuation - just nitpicky stuff like commas/full stops at the end of lines. But overall great, I look forward to reading more of your work! :)

Your poem was well written. I loved that you the emotions were projected well. And i'm glad you compared the person to something else. I look forward to more of your work. Oh and of course well done!;)
IHI means hi backwards, forwards, vertical, horizontal, and any other way and is pronounced by saying the individual letters, like so I H I. I came up with IHI as my thing, don't take it or I will send a scary monster after you ; D
