Run Away

This poem is inspired by a girl I knew who ran away form home, I don't know if she did it for the right reasons or not. This is just my interpretation of it. Hope you guys enjoy it... :)

I walked out of the door
To never come back again.
I turned around one last time
To never look back again.

I felt piercing eyes on my back,
For he must be staring
At my retreating figure;
Walking away from him
And his gift of a miserable filthy life.

I felt my breathing
Grow fast and faster,
As my feet moved unceremoniously,,
Taking me away from the prison in disguise.

I broke into a run,
As soon as I sensed he would follow,
Try to make me stop
And listen to his sorrow.

I died a slow death,
Every night he came in;
Touch me with his ice cold fingers,
Those made me shiver all night.

I cried all night;
After he would leave me,
Drowning in the ocean
Of my own benign misery.

I woke up every morning,
Trying to look normal and happy,
But you would see my red, swollen eyes
And know exactly what I went through.

Look I did it Ma
I did, what you wanted me to do,
I finally found the guts to free myself
From the clutches of an evil monster.

Being scared from him,
Made me realize-
I had to get away
Or I would be stuck here for life.

The girl left her home right? but from who? sorry but I cant figure it out.
I liked this poem, I am just confused "who is she running away from?"
I will not review you on grammar cause even my grammar is POOR. hehe...

But I like the meaning of it, whether she runs from her father of her husband hehe :)
It is our choices that show what we truly are far more than our abilities

Great poem. I can feel the emotion and it all flows pretty well ;)

The only thing is...
Look, I did it Ma

That's the only problem that I saw!

Great job with it. You've earned a Like from me :D
