Spider Web.

sadness is slowly suffocating me
pensively rapping it’s delicate fingers around my neck
-intricately, calculatedly…quickly.
death has become my new lover
his scent clings to my skin
and underneath it
everywhere I go

why?
every bit of me is disintegrating, I’m losing control yet-
balancing on the precipice,
Waiting for the end…I stand corrected.

Spoiler
I don't usually write poems, and when I do they are catastrophic. So I kinds hope this is only half bad. This is also unnaturally depressing -.- (Somebody needs a happy meal.)

Hello there :)
I just have one question; how is the poem related to the title? I'm sorry, I tried and tried to crack the code but I failed. Besides that, this was really good. There was a lot of imagery, and some of your lines were so good, they sent a chill through my body. I liked the build up and the way you personified death and sadness. hmm, interesting.
Keep writing and good luck!

death has become my new lover I like the contradicting feelings here.
his scent clings to my skin
and underneath it I'm a little unsure about this here. Underneath the skin just doesn't sound right the way you're using it. I think maybe you should try something else here.
everywhere I go

why?
every bit of me is disintegrating, I’m losing control yet- I'm thinking that maybe this line should be broken into two, just so then the line doesn't look so out of place being so much longer
balancing on the precipice, <-- nice word here
Waiting for the end... I don't like how you used those three dots here. From what you wrote above, I think it would be better if you put another dash (-) insteadI stand corrected.

Overall, this was a nice try at writing a poem. I mean, I'm not going to say it's great or anything, but from what you said about not writing much poetry, I could tell it wasn't like an intense try at it. But for the idea and everything about it, it's pretty good. Some of the imagery used is very nice and easy to understand and I think sometimes that's good to have in a poem.

I tried to write Acrostic Poetry but gave up at the end and somehow lost the meaning of the poem....-.-

I'm going to be honest. I didn't like the second paragraph. I liked the first paragraph but the second (and last) just seemed slightly odd and away from the poem. I was lost until I read it the second time, slowly.

It did seem, evil. I hope you wasn't in a mood when you wrote this. Even though it sounded quite dark and moody I liked the vast range of vocabulary you used in the peice. I want to stop commenting but I still feel that I need to say...something.

Oh I don't know. Just well done with your peice and I hope I wasn't too harsh with my review. (Well this was hardly a review, so...)

Good Work.

I want to start off by saying this:
this is excellent. I haven't read much poetry from you, but I really hope to in the future. You definitely have talent with it. :)
Okay. Review time.
sadness is slowly suffocating me
pensively rapping it’s delicate fingers around my neck These two lines are wonderful-- the imagery is fantastic, and you managed to say it somewhat simply. I would recommend taking out "its", and maybe moving the dash up to this line though. You could also change "delicate" to "spiderlegged" or something, in order to tie in the title a bit more.

-intricately, calculatedly…quickly. "Quickly" feels odd here. I was imagining it kind of creeping up to your neck and slowly curling its fingers, a thoughtful expression on its face, but that last word changes that picture..

death has become my new lover
his scent clings to my skin I adore these two lines: the second is reminiscent of many love poems, but coupled with the line before it... simply wonderful.
and underneath it
everywhere I go I really like the line before this, but this one falls flat. It seems like you were trying to put something on the end of the stanza, because the last line didn't feel right for a break. That's never a good idea in poetry (though I'm quite guilty of doing the same) and leads to poorly formed and half-hearted lines. If you want something along these lines, maybe say something like "trailing after my footsteps like a ghost" or....something. That sucks. But something. :)

why? This really broke up the flow you had. But, I think I like it. You need to make it stronger in order to use this, continue your inquisitive tone. As of now, it kind of breaks up what you had, and then slowly goes back to it without an explanation.

every bit of me is disintegrating, I’m losing control yet-
balancing on the precipice, I like these two lines, but the rhythm feels a bit off :/
Waiting for the end…I stand corrected.

I have to say, I WAS a little disappointed with the end. Your poem is kind of vague, and I was hoping that you would wrap up the end and let us know what was really going on. Instead, you kind of gave a vague conclusive tone and referenced something else that we didn't really know about. This piece seems to be really ambiguous, something with sadness and death and a vague end of some sort. But, if you want this to be strong, make it tangible. Let us experience what you're talking about exactly; is it a depression, is it hopelessness, is it an actual, physical death?
Let us know.

Overall, like I said earlier, this was really good. I love your word choice and rhythm- great job. :)

Hmmm.... Well, you’ve certainly captured the depressive nature of the poem.
Spoiler
And I’d be happy to buy you a happy meal any old time. :)

One thing I will say - I didn’t really feel that connected with this poem. I don’t know why or what it was, and I can’t explain how it could be fixed - I’m not a gifted writer. But in terms of a person reading this, I didn’t reel that connected.
Maybe it was that the poem contained a somewhat unclear connection with the title. I dunno.

All over, good try at writing a poem. Please don’t be too mad with me. I think it’s good, but there’s still some work to be done. This is something you could expand on.

Hi! When I saw the title, I thought that death/sadness would be described like a spider's web and I think it would be great if you could do that. I mean, you're already halfway there really, with the description you have, but maybe you could make it sound a bit more like it is a spider's web. And death could be the spider spinning the web of sadness, or something. Just an idea. I'm not sure what you mean when you say you stand corrected either, so that left me slightly confused. I think it flowed very well though, and I think the fact that you didn't rhyme was very appropriate for this piece.
Matt.

I really enjoyed reading this. :) It has a lot of meaning to it and emotion under it all. Kudos to you for that. :)
