It was a sunset, just a sunset
As it descended into the night.

The red and purple and yellow and gold
Scattered, in a shimmering light

I can't explain the way I felt
So buried in my strife.

I sat alone, in the cold, crisp air
I sat and thought about my life,

I found my heart, right where I left it
Cold, and dark, and sad

But when I looked at that beautiful sun
It made me realize what I had.

I had air to breath, and books to write
And stories to be told,

Most of all I have this time on earth,
I'm ambitious, intuitive and bold!

And as I watched that sun go down,
the world was mine to hold.

I loved the imagery of this poem. It was very descriptive and emotional. Also the flow of it was very soulful. Great job. Keep up the good work. Happy Writing :)

Hi-ya! This really brought out a new light onto a sunset for me, brilliant writing!

My favorite part:

And as I watched that sun go down,
the world was mine to hold.
If you want to be a great writer, don't think about what you're going to write, just write it.

I'm a huge fan of writers block! When your brain halts, with no direction for where you should go, it gives you threads. All you have to do is pull and unravel the story you're meant to write.

Some people are hourglass shaped, some people are apple shaped, some people are pear shaped, some people are even bean pole shaped, but if we’re not careful we all become banana shaped. This is your gentle posture reminder.
