This is ridiculous. Really.
I’m meant to be finishing a novel before uni- that’s been my life goal for a very long time.

Due to my untamed imagination, my procrastination and lack of persistence when things go awry- this hasn’t been done, not even close. In fact, due to these hindrances, I now have 11 different stories running at the same time! Yes, 11!

Ideas seem to form by themselves, and before I know it, I abandon my current project in hopes of the new project being capable to fulfil my goal- therefore the viciously miserable cycle begins again and I can’t seem to withdraw myself from it.

But I think I’ve found a solution.

A Poll! http://www.yourfreepoll.com/azjswfbasp.html%20poll

Yes, you heard right, my peaceful, intelligent slaves citizens. I need your help, for a breath of fresh air, a change, a view in a new light, a different lens, for a— okay, I’ll stop with the metaphors.

Because what’s really important in a novel is if the potential reader (that’s you) is fully interested, engaged and satisfied with my novel. Plus, I myself must be able to persist with it, taking into account all the pros and cons of each novel. So without further ado, here comes the request:

Vote for the novel YOU want me to write (and complete!) I need 500 votes from people across my played websites to make my final decision.

The winning idea will make me drop all other projects and focus solely on it. I will also make a list, beginning with the second most popular, and when I finish the winning novel, I will go to the list and begin the next one.

It’s a big ask, I know. But please, do this for me. Pretty, pretty please. I will love you forever.

I’ve gone to ALL the websites I regularly visit, and pleaded this message to all of them.

All my ideas are magnificent need work, even the ones I’ve written most about. Below, I’ve listed my ideas (in no particular order- I meant it), a brief synopsis, a pro/con list, and a preview of my written work for that novel encased in a spoiler box.

And remember: I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR ANYONE TO USE ANY OF THESE IDEAS FOR PERSONAL OR COMPANY GAIN! These ideas are property of Maddison R., and no-one else! You may not use them, so do not ask or steal! (Even the ones I do not choose to write now, I will in the future, so the answer is still no).

Faith {{Action/Thriller/Sci-fi/Apocalypse/Psychological}} 15+ and older for graphic content/adult themes

Eight freshly-(animal) mutilated humans must escape from their prison and warn the world of the fore coming apocalyptic disease that their captor (Loren Mark) is about to unleash, without getting caught up in his media scheme for them. Heavily focuses on the horrors of religion, media, science and multi-million dollar mega companies.

PROS: I personally think this is the most creative and original plotline. It’s jam packed with twists, climaxes, slow and fast-paced scenes and a dramatic finish. It’d also make a damn good movie.

PROS: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the characters in this book, even if they still need a little bit more tweaking. Look below:

• A proud and paranoid actor/heartthrob,
• A strangely reserved yet charismatic disabled villain,
• A fiercely passionate and stubborn African girl->teen,
• A sarcastic, impulsive and existentialistic rebel,
• A falsely confident, snappy and germ-ophobic woman,
• A sensitive, confused and anxious boy->teen,
• A fretting, earnest old man
PROS: This book is heavily symbolic, and the message is rampant throughout. Also, the message means a lot to me, because I am a detester of most religion. (<-Don’t hold this against me.)

CONS: I have no middle! It’s bare! I know my start, climax and ending off by heart, but I have a gaping black hole for the middle! It will take time to sort out what to put in here. I have pieces to order in here, and I roughly know the plot here, but it needs work.

CONS: This is fairly dark in places. I don’t know if it will be a hit with all readers because of its themes- and the ending is far from happy.

CONS: This will be a long book. I don’t know if I
have the determination to stick with it. I might need a WHOLE LOT of support.

Opal Flight {{Fantasy/Romance/Action}} 13-19, + older if wished

16-year old Talia’s not human- she’s a genetic flyer, to be precise. She must harness her newfound abilities to save her own and the life of her love. Her past will trigger an all-out war between her hometown species, and she must piece the clues together before more blood is shed. Heavily focuses on the horrors of discrimination, betrayal, abuse, war, love and growing up.

PROS: Similar to the first pro for Faith: I LOVE LOVE LOVE my mains! I’ve got them down to a T.

PROS: Out of all of my novels, this has the most written about. Several chapters and scenes are stored on my computer already. I have 5-page character analyses for the three mains and 3 more in progress. I’ve drawn a lot of characters and illustrations for this and I even have some scene drawings in the process.

PROS: There are two REALLY big twists in this novel, which I regularly get overly giddy about presenting to the world. Actually, I want to share them now with you :) If you don’t want to see them, don’t look. I’ll put them in spoilers. Resist the temptation, if you want to read this book and don’t like twists being given away.

Spoiler
Justin (the male lead) is somehow increasingly getting weaker the closer the war approaches, and refuses to fight in it. Talia gets too curious, and secretly follows him home one night. She is more that horrified to discover Justin is receiving abuse personally from the leader of opposing army (Lynn), and this leader is actually Justin’s mother and captor, and Justin is part night-flyer. DUN DUN DUN!!! :D

Spoiler
Talia chooses to confess her non-human secret to Cassie, her best friend. Somehow, Cassie seems… jealous. But she accepts it. Cassie is increasingly bitchier and snappier to the world, right up until a dramatic scene with her parents in which she storms out and runs to the home of her favourite teacher- which happens to be Lynn, because Cassie is unaware that she was the person that kidnapped her unsuccessfully a month ago. DUN DUN DUN! Lynn, seeing her potential with the relationship with Talia- because Lynn does not know her son’s relationship with Talia- she comforts Cassie, and promises her she could help Cassie by living with Lynn. Cassie dyes her hair, loses weight, wears contacts and does several other alterations so that if Justin ever caught her in the house -he doesn’t spend that much time there- he wouldn’t be able to recognise her (they are acquaintances). Cassie soon joins in the fight with the night flyers, not realising she will be battling her ex best friend. Also, on a change of note, her father is still alive, and didn’t die in the house fire that was assumed to kill both of her parents. DUN DUN DUN!

CON: THIS IS SUPER CORNY. Uh-huh. I really, really need to work on bringing realism to it and lose its mary-sue-ness. I mean, come on. A girl learns she has powers, and has to save her town, and blah blah blah. I’ve got to find that hook. I’m working on it, people!

CON: It also has no depth, no meaning, and no real guts to it. I can feel that when I write it

CON: Although I did say I love Talia, she’s a bit of an airhead and doesn’t deserve to be a hero.

Could you be mine? {{Drama/Romance/Tragedy/Psychological}} 15+ and older for adult themes

Is a heartbreaking love story about an innocent backpacker falling for the not-all-there guy, despite social burdens to conform otherwise. Point of view switches between them to reveal both the pair’s raw emotions and feelings. Heavily focuses on the downs of mental disabilities and peer pressure, and the strength of love.

PRO: I like the idea of working with a first-person POV character that is mentally/socially impaired (not in the dumb sense).

PRO: This has a strong message about those types of people, and I want my readers to understand what goes on inside their minds. To be more specific, he’s an asocial schizoid and borderline obsessive-compulsive. I am thinking of pursuing a career in Psychology, so this would be a great exploring point for me to develop and present my theories on certain branches in the field to the audience (preferably in a non-complex way for those who don’t study the subject).

PRO: This will be real tear-jerker, something far from what I normally dabble in (fantasy, humour and dark themes), and a fun challenge for me to pull off- I would probably feel more personally satisfied with completing this one.

CON: I have done next to no work on this whatsoever. All I have is this synopsis and one little scene with Christian (the schizoid) talking to himself. That’s it, which in relative size is squat.

CON: This plotline somehow feels like it’s been done before.

CON: Backpacker? Really? I don’t know anything about their lifestyles. This would require a hell of a lot more research then I would have liked, especially because I have to research heavily into the disorders that Christian has.

Fortification {{Thriller/Suspense/Action/Gothic}} 15+ and older for graphic content (warmth of the mug)

Miranda remembers nothing- not how she got here, not how she understands everything without memories of experiencing them. But she’s accepted that- and the understanding that she’s a blood and soul-sucking monster in humanoid shell that must control herself in public in order to protect her secret. She meets Jeremiah, who generously welcomes her to a band of outcasts rumoured to be on the brink of world supremacy, and soon she’s faced with the confronting decision to choose between her race or the humans- but which is the right side to save?

PRO: Is anyone sick to death of stupid, predictable romance vampire novels? Trust me, as much as this sounds like one, it couldn’t be further from the truth. This book more closely follows the original vampires more than the modern ones- and are a combination between grim reapers and vampires. Think more like
V meets Harry Potter’s Death Eaters, and then they join Dracula’s coven and spend their days watching Wall Street on television. Yep, that pretty much describe their race, the “Nightshaders”. And Jeremiah is not a romantic heartthrob, but an unintentionally cunning bastard who uses Miranda’s lack of Nightshader knowledge to take advantage of her (in several ways).

PRO: Miranda’s personality is intriguingly complex, which I think readers will like. She fluctuates sometimes between her “bitchy, attention-seeking” old life personality, and her new “raw, guarded” behaviour that came from kidnapping and early transformation. Occasionally these traits clash, leading into situations that put her in physical and mental danger.

PRO: Some of my best writing work in on display here! :D

CON: I might get sick of this, because of my
distaste in modern vampires. It might put me off writing.

CON: What if some publisher gets hold of this and distorts my whole vision for my story into the very romanc-y genre I despise?

CON: I don’t, umm, sort of, kinda, have a definite plotline yet. :/

Defying Magic {{Fantasy}} 8-16, + older if wished (Thoro)

Is a young adolescent novel that follows the journey of Thoro Martis Tor, who has not developed any magical powers and is considered an abnormality by his adult peers. With the aid of his friends, they build a machine to give him some, and everything goes awry- teleporting-universe awry. Heavily emphasises the downs of peer pressure, insecurity, unrealistic expectations, and shows light-hearted humour and magic.

PRO: This book is actually dedicated to my brother, because half of the plotline is his idea, and the other half we created together. (Fun Fact: It was originally titled “Thoro And The Other World- lame!) So he will be the one to push me and motivate me to get it done. In fact, he’s already done so before- I mean, it wasn’t a novel, and it was only 8,000 words, but it was a mini goosebumps-style book for him to read and show off to his friends.

PRO: This is aimed at a younger audience, so… well, I’m not saying I don’t need to put in the effort, which I do, and I’m not saying I don’t need to write fancy, because I think some of my best writing pieces is with this novel, however, I won’t need to put that much thought into it. This is bloody fantastic for me because I need to push myself in my schooling at this present moment because I haven’t been consistent with my grades.

PRO: I really think the characters in this are unique and original both in personality, powers and looks- and so are the names! Where else would you hear the names Thoro, Void (an inconsistent shapeshifter), Box (a boy fairy with girl fairy powers), Sarahine (a mother-like figure and Thoro’s only adult friend, plus she’s a healer) and Dactyle (an insane teacher after vengeance taken from Thoro’s unmagical ass)?

CON: Isn’t there enough magical fantasy books out and about already?

CON: The ending doesn’t quite make sense. 0_o I need to fix that.

CON: I’ve wrote four chapters, but one got lost in the computer universe and now I have to rewrite it all over again. :<

Secret Attention {{Romance/Feel-good}} 13+ and older

Sick of the expectations upon him and his unstable mother, Cal Slayer, a famous teen popstar, goes undercover and escapes England for a holiday free of worries. Jaxie is in for a fright of her life when she realises that the popstar moved in next door! Can she keep the press at bay- and control her ever-growing feelings for him? The theme of novel is overcoming obstacles.

PRO: It’s such an adorable book! Plus it’s free of darkness, for the readers who are sick of me spewing out such grim plotlines.

PRO: Cal Slayer is awesome. I’m just saying.

PRO: I think in places it’s kind of inspiring.

CON: LAME. SUPER CORNY. FEELS LIKE ITS BEEN DONE BEFORE.

CON: Jaxie is an airhead, just like Talia.

CON: It’s taking me forever to get motivated for this novel!

Scarlett Blaise {{Fantasy/Action}} 13+ and older for low-level war themes

Scarlett Blaise is perfectly content with her designer lifestyle, until she is bashed by an unknown stranger who reveals himself as a demon after her family’s precious heirloom. Suddenly, everything she knows about fairytales is changed- she must embrace her family’s cross-breed bloodlines, leave her friends behind and fight in a battle to end demon domination. Displays the ugly side of discrimination, “spoiled brats”, and rivals destiny.

PRO: There’s an unusual mix of characters in this book, and heaps of them. Because it’s not first-person, I can talk about all of them. YES!

PRO: Scarlett is an awesome unlikely heroine. She’s so rude, so stuck-up, so superficial, yet she kicks ass and is generous, protective and confident. I also love drawing her. Plus, I love her name and I love her mother. They’re super-close, and unseparat-able.

PRO: The plot is pretty action-packed. I feel it’s got enough hooks to keep the reader interested.

CON: Although I know what I want to happen, I haven’t wrote that much about it yet.

CON: I have intentions to turn this into a three-book series. :/ I can’t change this, considering it ends on a cliff hanger.

CON: I haven’t worked on this in a while so some of the finer details are a bit blurry and rusted.

Tristan Chadley {{Fantasy/Action/Steampunkish}} 8-16, + older if wished

Wait, why is this even in here? It’s got nothing to it, not even a synopsis! All I know is that Declan (my brother if you can remember) has got it all sorted. It’s about a kid working for the Fire Dragons, and him along with four others have to find the Ice Dragon Orphan in order to end a battle that’s been happening for a millennia, whilst trying to ward off the Neutralisers, a side which hates both.
It’s confusing, but I have to give my brother credit- it’s intriguing.

I’m not going to post a pro/con list. However, if you like to hear and develop it more, tell me- vote for it.

Switch Stitch {{Drama/Comedy/Romance/Feel-good}} 15+ and older for adult themes

Jackie and Zenith are classmates. So they’re talked little, barely know each other, and couldn’t care less. But they’re about to- because when they wake up from an accident they were both involved in, they’ve can’t begin to fathom why they’re woken up in each other’s bodies! But soon other strange occurrences in the other victims become clear- and they must get accustomed to each other’s lives to help solve the mystery!

PRO: MUAHAHAHAHA. –evil face- This plotline makes me giggle constantly. Zenith is a sports freak, dog-lover, and a bit of a bastard. Jackie is an almost-blind geek with an amazing voice and an obsession with the environment. Match made in heaven? You bet! HAHAHAHAHA!

PRO: Because Jackie is a geek, I get to use big words in her first person account. Sweet.

PRO: :D I cannot wipe the smile of my face. Seriously. This was a spur-of-the moment idea that paid off.

CON: Sounds like a smash up of It’s a Boy/Girl Thing and Final Destination. Oh, great. There goes my smile. :(

CON: I have ONE SCENE. ONE SCENE on this. But guess which scene it is? ;)

CON: I have absolutely no idea what the mystery actually is. Ha-ha. :/

End of What We Know {{Sci-fi/Apocalyptic/Psychological}} 16+ and older for adult themes/ graphic and gory content

Penelope Synder is a field agent for the force, but on a stakeout mission, something goes horribly wrong- an alien abduction. After witnesses her colleague’s apparent death in the night sky, she fearfully runs to the expert in conspiracy theories and alien paraphernalia- her own brother Drake. The two end up meddling in business they shouldn’t- and are whisked away together on a highly developed planet which intends to breed select “original” humans from earth and devour its resources. Plot based in the memory of Zecharia Sitchin (RIP) and his theories. Shows the horrors of science.

PRO: This is a book inspired to write for my mother, because she LOVES sci-fi and she is really into the UFO-thing. I’ve spent a long time developing the other aliens on their planet, including their language, lifestyle, habits, mindset, environment etc.

PRO: The brother/sister duo in this are my most original characters I’ve created (I’m being serious). Oh, and I made a pixel-art headshot of them both:

Image Image

PRO: Unlike my other stories, I know EXACTLY what I want for the start, middle, end, and I’ve already begun the first two chapters.

CON: I’m probably trying to make this too realistic, when in fact it’s Sci-fi and I don’t really need to as much as I am.

CON: This story gets pretty gruesome, especially with the breeding part and the escape part. Readers might not respect its purpose for exploring the human mind and laboratory-science, and might see it as “author’s disturbed”.

CON: I’m not as enthusiastic in completing this as I am with others.

Elusive Game {{Crime/Mystery
/Thriller}}
16+ for gory/graphic content

Cassandra is a homicide detective for the Australian Federal Police. It’s what she’s good at, and has been for the last seven years. When a particularly gruesome series of murders happen, she throws herself into the investigation- but this killer isn’t one for hiding. In a series of webcasts, interviews and media stints under the name Insidious, he tries to capture the nation’s attention and confusion, but to Cassandra’s horror, all he does is seize her affection.

PRO: Well, this isn’t really a pro, but it’s my oldest story. It was the first ever novel I attempted, with the idea for it occurring about 5 years ago.

PRO: Trust me, it’s far more complex than it sounds. He doesn’t just “win her heart,” after all, that would be too simple. Without giving much away, I guess you could say he’s not just “one” person in her life. ;)

PRO: My mother, auntie and grandmother have been hounding me for the last five years to get this one done! Hahaha :D

CON: LAME.

CON: Readers might think this is impossible and not read it for the risk they’ll be witnessing the stupidest romance story ever.

CON: This story’s so old that all of my writing work in this is so grammatically and terminologically flawed.

So, there you have it. Which one do YOU want to read?
-If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you!
-"Careful with that light at the end of the tunnel, it might be another train coming."

This awesome post bought to you by me. :)

I'll admit the two turtle doves are growing on me, but there are ten birds in this house already and we both know geese are feathered bioweapons of mass destruction.
