Day 2 - Poem 2

Land of Magic (the library)

Shhhh
I smile.
What a wonderful silence.
Smells,
Old paper and mildew.
Others cringe,
And shrink away.
I relax,
And make myself at home.
Where others doze,
I make myself at home.

Day 3 - Poem 3

Derek (A Haiku)

Hair in lushious waves,
Skin as fine as fresh olives,
And a past to cherish.

Day 4 - Poem 4

The Storm
Out my window,
I see,
thick grey nasty clouds;
I hear,
dephening thunder;
I feel,
the thick heaviness in the air;
I smell,
the freshness of the coming rain;
I taste,
the static in the lightning;
and I know,
a storm is on it's way.

Day 5 - Poem 5

Sisterhood (Sibling Rivalry)

"Brat"
"Little Snot"
Words are thrown.
Pushing,
Pulling,
Hits,
And kicks.
All shared,
All harsh.
Years pass...
Out for lunch,
Smiles,
Hugs,
And air kisses.
All harshness exchanged,
All pain felt,
All forgotten.
Nothing beats sisterhood,
Even sibling rivalry.

Day 6 - Poem 6

My Mind

Dragons and Demons,
Confusion and Clouds,
Wacky Worlds and Fantasies,
Anger,
Frustration,
And sudden juts of happiness,
Watch out!
Legendary and Magical Creatures
Beware,
For they all inhabit one world,
They all inhabit...
My Mind.

Day 7 - Poem 7

Bullies

They taunt and they tease.
They chant and they laugh.
They whisper and they shout.
They touch not my skin,
But tear at my mind.
They lay not a finger,
But throw harsh words.
Sticks and stones,
Sticks and stones,
My own chant rings loud,
But not true.
I know,
The the words they throw are worse than stones.
I know,
That words can be more powerful, and more destructive than any weapon.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
— Martin Luther King Jr.
