CHAPTER TWO

Two hearts meet again

"Hallo, Mama." Marky grinned as he went inside his mother's office. Two colors dominated the interior of her office: brown and black.
"Take a seat." She smiled as she rested her hands on the table. Marky obeyed. Ismael sat on a chair across where he sat.
Ismael decided to keep quiet. After a long silence, Mrs. Gracia Federal spoke.
"I wanted to ask you a serious question, Marky and I hope that you'll answer me honestly."
He shrugged his shoulders and rested his back on the chair. "Sure, mom."
Gracia leaned on her swivel chair and crossed her arms across her flat stomach. "What do you think of managing our Bella Amor resort?"
Marky smirked. Ismael looked at him and doubted that his elder brother would want to manage the resort.
"Is that what I'm really here for?" he joked.
"I told you that this is serious, Marky." Gracia already knew that he wouldn't take her question seriously.
He sighed. "You know that I hate to be cooped in an office. I like to boss around and that stuff, but I hate boredom, mom."
"How are you supposed to know how enjoyable this position is, if you won't try?"
"Nah." He waved his hand. "I enjoy my job in Germany, mom. News writer-slash-paparazzi. Why would I replace my job with a serious, brain-storming business management?"
Gracia nodded. "If that's what you want."
Ismael looked at her sadly. He already knew what Gracia was up to and why she asked that question. Suddenly, he felt pity for himself.
The woman pulled out some keys and gave it to Marky. "That's the key to the 25th suite on the 5th floor."
Marky grinned as he held the keys. He stood up to embrace his mother.
"Seven years, mom.. It's been seven years and I missed you so much."
"Oh, Is that your way to console me after being a pain in the ass?" She chuckled.
Marky released her from his arms and smiled. "You're learning my kind of language, mom. I wonder if you can say 'shit' 3 times."
The woman slapped his arm tenderly. "You silly man! Go to your suite now."
"Yeah. Yeah. Yeah." He laughed as he pulled his bag. Ismael waited for him by the door of the office.
"Mom's so cool!" Marky remarked as they went out of her office.

"I told you, he arrived here already," Sandy said cheerfully as she walked behind Naddie by the seashore towards the hotel. Sandy was Naddie's best friend and she was also from the Federal family. She was Ismael and Marky's slim and petite cousin.
"So? What should I do?" Naddie said sarcastically as she looked at her.
"Oh, C'mon, don't deny it.I know how happy you are to know that Marky has arrived!" She jumped and glomped at Naddie. She laughed as she held Sandy's arms that hung on her shoulders and let go of them when Sandy decided to jump back on her feet.
They walked fast to the hotel and passed by the receptionist area. They talked again.
"Have you ever asked yourself how Marky looked like after seven years?" Sandy said.
Naddie grinned. "Not really, I can imagine how he looks like."
"What?" Sandy was eager to know it.
"Well..," Naddie stopped walking. "Maybe, he turned pale white. His eyes got eyebags beneath them. Hmm.. His teeth got cavities and tar from cigarettes."
Sandy made that 'yuck' facial expression as she listened to Naddie while the other just laughed.
"Hey, ladies," a voice spoke that made their head turn to look who spoke.
"Ishmael!" Sandy exclaimed. She used to call him Ishmael than Ismael. The 18-year old girl got curious when she saw the blond guy. "Who's he?"
Naddie didn't have to ask who was with Ismael. She saw that familiar spark in the blond guy's blue eyes.
"Marky.." She couldn't help to whisper that audibly.
They looked at Naddie. She blushed. She felt embarrassed because her whisper caught their attention.
"She still remembers you, bro." Ismael smiled as he talked to Marky.
He grinned and extended a hand. "Hello again, Naddie."
'That husky voice again!' Naddie thought as she reached his hand. 'Sexier than ever.'
Sandy cooed. "Cinderella, Your Prince Charming has arrived!"
Naddie quickly pulled away her hand from his hand and turned to glare at Sandy. "What Cinderella are you talking about?"
"You should have called her Rapunzel. She's not missing a shoe anyway," Marky joked back that made Sandy grin.
He had a point, Naddie had a long black hair that reached her waist. The pseudonym of Rapunzel suited to her.
"Why are you here, Naddie?" Marky asked. She looked at him with disbelief.
Shouldn't he feel embarrassed at me? Have he forgotten what he did seven years ago?, she thought.
"Mom invited their family for the celebration too," Ismael answered when Naddie remained quiet.
"Have Aunt Gracia told you what is the party for?" Sandy chimed in.
Ismael grinned while Marky replied, "I have no idea, Sandy Cheeks. Maybe, it's a family reunion."
"A family reunion with Naddie?", Ismael questioned his hypothesis.
"Why not? She's going to be Mrs. Marky Federal anyway!" Sandy teased.
"Sandy!" Naddie exclaimed in a warning tone. She felt like she wanted to sink down this tiled floor when she saw Marky's smirk.
Ismael tried to protect Naddie. "Let's talk later, ladies. As you can see, I've got to take Marky to his suite."
Sandy nodded. "Okidoki, Ishmael! See you both later!"
The men walked ahead. When they rode the elevator, Naddie quickly pinched Sandy on the waist.
"Aw!" she yelled.
"Why do you have to tell those things?"
"What things?" she asked innocently.
"About the Cinderella and Mrs. Marky Federal thing! That's the thing!" she replied in an exaggerated facial expression.
Sandy giggled. "Don't worry, Marky love to hear those."
"You little brat! No man wouldn't enjoy to know that a girl admires him! I can't believe that you said that to him! I don't even like that guy!"
"Ooh, you don't like him, eh?" Sandy smiled. "Maybe, you love him!"
All that Naddie did was to laugh with her.
Every day is beautiful with a little arm stretch and a smile :)

This chapter was just as enthralling as the last. :) My only critique again would have to be the grammar and punctuation. And every now and then there's a minor flaw with sentence flow, but this stuff is soo easy to fix. It's the writing that I admire.

The way you write has such a charming way about it. I think that's what makes it so unique and like-able. You're personality flows through the words. You are weaved into your own story. I can tell this through your characters and your third-person perspective. The humor in the story is very natural sounding, not so forced. I read this and I wonder what your inspiration was. I love when I can get that deep into someones writing, because I know I will always love their work no matter what. There is something about your work that is so interesting! I can't wait to read chapter 3 of this story.

I really adore Marky's character. There's something about him that comes off so charming. But not in that very forward kind of way. You see this through the mother's view and through the other girl characters in the story. The title is so befitting. The setting has such a quaint feel to it as well! Looking forward to reading chapter 3 next. Look out for my reviews. I'm sure that won't be hard to do. They'll be the very long and encouraging ones. :)

Sincerely,
A fan of your work!
Paul is my little, evil, yellow bundle of joy.
