Ignition—a
madhouse of scarlet and sulfur,
snarled together in dissonant chords, blasting against
the framework of what could not be, what should not be.

Opposing, celestial computations
in the gears of a higher mind, pondering, assuming the
best of disaster. Each crash of titanic slate just a brush of
fingertips among clay.

Crash—the
colossal roar of unknowns, a
myriad of unintelligible things. Footprints in the loam
as craters from the falling sky, caustic and burning.

Along came a trickster,
cunning, winding through the grass and
around the ankle of a beauty, tongue lapping at an eager ear.
Pursue the unknown; claim the darkness.

Emergence—a
wary eye peering into the twilight,
a hand grasping a spear tightly in fear of the frontier: the
womb of to-be, the threshold of the future.
I am a forest fire and an ocean, and I will burn you just as much
as I will drown everything you have inside.

I love this. I've been wanting to use the word "loam" in a poem, and I also appreciate the word "caustic..." I love the imagery of Eve and the snake, without once saying "snake" or "temptation" or anything like this. A and B the C of D, mate! Above and beyond the prompt, great job!

This was really deep and descriptive, and I liked the intertwining images within this. There was also a good sense of flow and rhythm, and the whole thing was just fresh and descriptive. So...good job. The only thing I didn't completely understand was why you didn't put words like "a" in the first line down to the second. Still, really liked it.

Pursue the unknown; claim the darkness. This is my favorite section. It was wonderfully written in my opinion.

Overall I loved the poem. It was..."distant" but in a good way. I thoroughly enjoyed your imagery throughout, but that has always been one of your stronger points. Very well done, Sir. Very well done indeed.

I love this, Lumi. Identify with it. I'm not a well-informed critic when it comes to poetry, but I know what I like, and this seems to have guts.

For me, this is high poetry - I can't understand it It's filled with really poetic, beautiful words...Fine, I simply didn't understand it. lol I don't have the best vocabulary in the world, much less the best poem-reader. But, it really is beautiful even though I didn't get it. :) The only thing I noticed is that the pattern was broken in the 2nd stanza where there was no dash. Perhaps, it really isn't important to mention. >.<

I'm so not helpful in this review. >.<

Marvelous! Simply exquisite! I quite enjoyed reading this poem, and it conveys images stupendously. Many poems, even those written by celebrated authors, are often difficult to read straight through without stopping to say "Huh?". That is not the case here! You are excellent at making the language flow (I wish I could say the same for myself ;) ).

Oh, and the loam usage was epic :D I have been wanting to use the word "avocado" in a poem for a long time, but it never works out xD
