This poem was actually inspired by my father, who I moved in with about a year ago after my mom destroyed me. He made me so many promises, the biggest of which being that he would not subject me to another uprooting, as we moved every month when I was younger. I'm in the middle of my sophomore year of high school and he just informed me we are moving over 1000 miles away to Texas all for his fiance that he has now known for 6 months. Tells me something about his priorities doesn't it?
Anyways, just wrote it five mins ago, tell me what you think.
It bleeds into my soul;
this undeniable thought.
It tells me what I have to do,
revokes all I've sought.
I've searched for so long,
was it really all for nothing?
I don't want to believe it,
it's too painful, so crushing.
How in the world
could this happen to me?
When all I wanted
was not to bleed.
I needed someone to patch the wound.
I desired someone to trust.
I searched for someone to confide in
But my dreams were turned to dust.
This person I found,
I should've never let through.
I should have stopped
to think of what he might do.
I let him in,
I let him take my pain
let him take it,
all away.
But when he left,
he ripped the stitches
left me bleeding,
with too many burned bridges.
I gave up so much for him
and I guess he played his part.
But when he was done,
to took all his fun
and left me with a bleeding heart.
