Has anyone used this site before, and do you know if it's fairly safe (i.e., no plagiarism)? I had a friend suggest it to me today and it looks interesting, but just thought I'd check before signing up.

I'd never heard of the site before, but when I saw this, I Googled it and made an account. As you do.
I had a browse around last night and overall, it actually looks pretty decent. Nothing as good as YWS, obviously but it looks professional enough and it doesn't look like there'd really be much of a plagiarism problem or anything. No more than on YWS, anyway.
The reviews on the site lack quite a bit, but on one hand that's good because I feel really smart when I write long reviews on there. (I wrote three last night) They'd be considered short for YWS, but for Figment they were darn long. As for the writing, it's like YWS. There's some great stuff on there, some not so great stuff, and some potentially great stuff.
It's pretty easy to find your way around the site, and that must be true because I get lost on sites easily, but didn't have any problems with figment. The people there seem friendly enough too. There's a nice guy called Ryan I was speaking to last night. I haven't posted anything of my own yet; I want to browse around a bit before doing all of that, but it looks easy enough to post something when you want to.
This has turned into a review of the site... but hey, I'm a creeper like that. There are definitely some positives to the site, but also some negatives which is expected. Not everything can be perfect. Join and see if you like it, Ranger. You'll never if you like it until you give it a go.
I am nothing but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's or maybe like pocket candy that's just a bit too sweet.
I joined, and it's a nice site, but definitely not as conducive to reviewing as YWS.

I used to be on it. Never posted anything. Lurked for a day/two and forgot. But it seemed pretty good. But I found YWS better and continued having fun here. ^^

I just made an account and zoomed around for a while, but nothing seemed all that astounding to me at all. I mean, their graphic art is nice, but it's a writing site, not a Juno movie.
Anyway, it seems nice, but certainly not review-driven. I'm gonna keep flying around a bit, though.

I joined it in December, and hung around there for a month. It was okay, but really it is one of those writing sites where you're competing for 'hearts' on your work rather than to actually get feedback. I posted two works up there, and around 3 reviews/comments out of 20 were like ones you normally see on YWS.
So, basically, if you want to get your writing recognised with a few helpful comments thrown in, then go for Figment. But prepare to have to try really hard to be popular on the site, 'cause that's the main way you'll get 'hearts'.
