Spoiler
Thanks for the feedback everyone, I really appreciate it. Thinking back now, I probably should have put a bit of "author's notes" when I posted this. But it was my first posted work here and I'm still getting used to the standard procedure of things on YWS. :P

First, let me note that I can recall of two, public, online forums where I also posted this piece in addition to my Facebook. If anyone sees this (or anything else I post here) elsewhere, let me know so I can straighten out any possible instances of plagiarism. Usernames I have used on said forums that come to mind would be one I use here, RinSuru, but with an underscore, Rin_Suru. Others might follow a form along the lines of "X`ard Zeonlioso" or "Z`ard Xeonlioso". "NeoNoez" is another that may have been used when posting this and other short pieces of mine. I know this might make me look suspicious, but I have always had a thing about fearing "accidental dishonesty". Not only am I OCD, but actual truth behind "this really, actually isn't anything that it looks like" might as well be the story of my life. I can be quite absentminded at times and, apparently in the past, unbelievably so. >.<

Lumi, I took your suggestions for grammar in mind and committed all of the suggested changes, except in the first line. This is because, I do want the comma to serve the function of slowing and putting emphasis on the subordinate clause that follows it. I feel that this flows better than forming the subordinate clause into a separate line of it's own or even working the clause into a semi-colon merger with the independent clause.

Also, Lumi, you more or less summed up all of the thoughts behind this piece when you assessed that "you can read it several times and take varied meanings from the text". In writing, I do hope that I become able to encapsulate several possible meanings, with at least one relatable hook to get both reader(s) and author(s) thinking beyond written words.

To everyone, you are all correct in feeling that this is a scrap. I definitely hope to work this into something bigger at some point. Personally, this is possibly my favorite, short but polished, piece that I spent a good bit of time on thinking it out. As I was hoping it would be, It is obvious that it needs so much more.

Ruth, and any others who might be thrown off by the encapsulation with quotations and "- Gimmick", imagine a character thinking this, ala an internal monologue; then think about the denotations of the word 'gimmick'. :)

"Perhaps it's the stories that are not worth reading, that are the ones worth recording at all.
This is no story of infinite wisdom or knowledge, it is not timeless.
This is no revelation of any profound perspective; it does not come from within.
There is no magical secret, and there are no encoded messages. There is no meaning in any cryptic prophecies.
There is nothing here that cannot or may not pass into any world.
This is not a story about anything, it is not a story for anyone. There is nothing here worth reading, and this is a story.
...It is my story; and it is the only story worth telling..." - Gimmick

In the interest of actually getting somewhere and accomplishing something, I'll be 'wrong' and you can be 'right'.

I really like this. It made me smile a bit. It's kinda like " I don't care what people think, I'm gonna express my self. And I'll do it the way I want." it what I think more writers need to be like. It shouldn't be about the reviews, the ratings, or the satisfaction of others. It should be about satisfying yourself and no one else. Your happiness and not theirs. Keep on writing!

Provoking! :)

This is something that will attract any potential reader even more. At least I would want to read a story that starts like that. You may have given the impression you don't care and that you even wouldn't like too many people to read this, but the effect of this is the exact opposite. Which might also be what you wanted to achieve. Mysterious... One doesn't really know what to think of you. But they'll read anything that comes after this.

Congratulations. I admire your style and choice of words. I would wish you Good Luck with every following work of yours, but to be honest, I don't know if you want to hear that.

RinBolt!

What you have here would work nicely as a monologue within a script or even just a small passage from a novel/short story because it is rather memorable. However, as a standalone piece, while memorable, it’s not that astounding. You’ve got this portrayal of universal selfishness with which practically any reader will sympathize, but that’s just about it. See, I’d take this as a sort of scripture: you can read it several times and take varied meanings from the text. To an average person, it’ll portray selfishness. To the reading author, it’ll convey a sense of “I put piece of myself in everything that I write, and therefore they are worth writing and reading.” At least, that’s what I got. But either way, it’s rather devoid of praiseworthy content as a standalone piece. Give me context, and I’ll be satisfied.

That’s not to say, of course, that I can’t appreciate this for what it is—that’s not true; what I mean is that I would love to see this plugged in elsewhere.

Grammar: (assuming you’re aiming for precise grammar)

Delete the comma in the first sentence, and delete the “it’s” and the “that’s,” or just play around with your wording (subject-verb agreement).

In your third sentence, change the comma to either a — or a semi-colon.

Same thing in sentence seven.

PM me/wall post me with any comments or questions.

Heya RinSuru! Here to review!

Alright, so when I first read this I found it rather interesting because of all the wise words put into this. But what I don't understand is whether you wrote this? Anyway, it's nice to read (I've read it over and over) but I just can't see anything from it. However, I think that maybe this could inspire a poem or short story? If you ever think about doing that please PM me if you need any help or you'd like me to review!

I don't think I have anything to say which the other haven't already. Keep writing and I hope I helped!
