Humanity

Battles raging on,
people dying for no reason.
Evil people springing forth,
to murder, kidnap, or steal.

This is Humanity.

Friends being found,
love being made,
eternal bonds forming.
Happiness all around.

This is Humanity.

We try to be perfect,
only adding to our flaws.
Damaging everything we touch,
killing more of nature every day.

Humanity is harsh.

We hold each other,
loving and caring.
Ecstatic for each others presence,
we must be together.

Humanity is love.

Our love is so strong,
we can be so kind.
Give us a chance,
we will capture your heart.

Sweet and simple,
complicated but joyful.
Hard and unforgiving,
mean and cruel.

This
is
Humanity.

Nice and emotional.
Grammar is in red.
Battles raging on,
people dying for no reason.- arguable point. Some may believe otherwise. But i like, it gives a different view.
Evil people springing forth,
to murder, kidnap, and steal.- be sure of your words/opinions!

We try to be perfect,
only adding to our flaws.
Damaging everything we touch,
killing more of nature every day.-harsh, but true.

*It starts to contradict itself a little toward the middle of the poem, but i think that the last stanza smooths it out.

Overall, nice poem.

The idea of contradicting lines is artistically sound, the poem itself is fundamentally proper. Kudos for using the poetic silences to insert the "This is humanity" succession. However, the lack of ambiguity in the piece, meaning the words being rather predictable, spoils the effect of irony within the text. The rhythm is good, though, as I have noted several cases of internal rhyming. It is a good poem, but I suggest a more dynamic use of words.

Hello there :)
I thought this poem was okay. The only thing special about it was the repetition of the words "this is humanity". Other than that, I guess I was expecting more from this poem. You started with a bang! then the momentum was lost. There were some stanzas in there that did not display the ferocity and passion I think this poem was intended. I mean, you mention real ills of humanity; they are just loosely hanging. As well as the positives, such as love and all, they are also very loose. I will agree with the previous reviewer about having a more dynamic use of words to properly tackle your point.

Sweet and simple,
complicated but joyful.
Hard and unforgiving,
mean and cruel.
Out of all the stanza's this one was the best.

Keep writing and good luck!

I like this. I've been trying to find something you could improve, besides what other people have already said, which I agree with. But I can't, so good job. :D

Yes. I will admit, I am not in love with this poem as I've been with some of your others, but I really liked how you wrote this. In short, your poem summarizes down to humanity being one big contradiction. We are harsh and we destroy things, yet we also feel love and experience care and we nurture things. Humanity is one big ball of confusion. Still, this is very nice, maybe not one of your all time best, but definitely up there in maybe the top five or six.

As far as nitpicks go, nothing jump out at me. No misspellings, no improper grammar, and nothing confused me.

Just gave me the chills. I love the use of the word ecstatic! Humanity is such a bold topic, this poem manages to expose the venerability and the harshness of it.
