Haiti

Haiti was a peaceful island
until the massive quake
On the 12th of January
The floor began to shake

(chorus)
Oh Haiti was a peaceful island

The quake rippled through the island
destruction in it's wake
Many dreams were lost that day
Because of the massive quake

(chorus)

'200,000 have died'
Many televisions did declare
Millions crossed their hearts
Hoping someone somewhere cares

(chorus)

Many relief workers came
Just like a Tsunami
Doctors from all over came
Including the red cross army

(chorus)

Terror stuck again
On the 20th of January
An awful aftershock came
despite the pleas of many

(chorus)
But will it be peaceful again?
Don't ask me what a quidnunc is or else I'll Floccinaucinhilipilificate you
I KILLED BOB

I think you may have posted this in the wrong section because narrative poetry usually does not contain a chorus. Anyway on to my review.
But will it be peaceful again?
This seems like a weak ending compared to the rest of your poem.I would omit that question.I think that you did a good job with the rhythm of the poem overall. Have a great day. fiction

I like your poem but I think you could improve on your chorus and your ending. Have a nice YWSy day, TPO.

Maybe what most people wanted wasn't immortality and fame, but the reassurance that their existence had meant something. No matter how long... or how brief. Maybe being eternal meant becoming a story worth telling.
