“Okay, Elena your job is to take calls for me, um David, you know what your job is,” I listened to Jack as he assigned the permanent jobs to everyone. They seemed disappointed at the job that they were assigned since they wanted to aim for the big job: Secretary. “And finally, Benny, your job is secretary,” he finished and walked off to post the paper on the bulletin board.

Jealous whispers came from everyone as I stared clueless at everything. “So I didn’t get the job or what?” I ask. “Benny, you’re the secretary,” Awatif, my new friend, said next to me. “Well I thought that you would be the perfect secre-What?” I said, now getting what she just said.

“Yea, you’re the secretary. I’m so happy for you!” she said and hugged me. The group mumbled and dispersed, going to their assigned jobs. “I’m the secretary?” I said to her, slowly. She nodded happily. I jumped up and down, whooping and laughing.

“Oh yea! In your face! Woot, woot!” I shouted, doing the cabbage patch dance. “No more debt to pay for my apartment because I got the best job, ooh, be jealous, people, be very jealous.” I said and laughed.

“Uh, Benny?” Awatif said and her eyes moved back and forth. I kept dancing. “What? Just tell me? It’s not like Jack is standing behind me, smiling?” I said. She nodded. I stopped dancing and turned around and screamed at how close he was. He was standing there, with his arms crossed over his chest, smiling at me.

“Oh it’s you. Ah, I’m scared,” I said laughing. But he kept smiling at me and I stopped. “…I’ll go pack my things,” I whispered and walked past him. “No, no, no, don’t go. I want to see that dance you did,” He said grinning. I gulped. “But I dance suckishly, you don’t want to see me dance,” I said feigning a chuckle.

He laughed. “Then you owe me a dance,” I mentally slapped myself in the forehead. “See you secretary,” he said and walked away and into his big office. When he was gone, I turned to glare at Awatif. “Why didn’t you tell me he was there?!”

“I-I got scared,” she said. I groaned. “Now I have to show him the stupid dance! I’ll be in my small office,” I muttered. “Where is that?” She asks.

I sat on the shelf inside the storage closet which is my small office for now and it felt like for what seemed like hours until I looked at my watch and saw that it was evening. Time to get out, and avoid what’s his handsome face. I gathered my purse and shoes and opened the door just a little bit to look out. Only the janitor was there and no sign of him. And the hallway seems to be half lit. Great.

I stepped out of the storage closet and tip toed past Jack’s office almost close to the elevator. Almost there, just a little bit closer. “Where were you?” A familiar voice rang out from behind me. I let out a scream and turned around quickly, causing me to trip over my ankle-I don’t know how that happens-and fell on my back.

I oofed and groaned, just laying there, in pain, and hope to god Jack is far far away. But he wasn’t. He was crouching above me with concern in his expression. “Come on, get up,” he said and took a hold of my arm and pulled me up. I gasp and clung onto his tree trunk arms, not wanting to fall again.

Our face were very close together and Jack seems to be staring at me and my lips. The streetlight from the window beside reflected on him, causing his jet black hair to look blue and his black eyes were mixed with arousal but with a faint of concern also. “Are you okay?” he whispered.

“Yes I’m okay,” I heard myself whispering back. His eyes scanned over my face, taking in my features. There was a bit of warmth between us and I kind of liked it. A lot. “I have to go home now,” I said and stepped away, the warm feeling magic-y feeling was gone already. “Yes, I’ll walk you to your car, if you like,” he said.

I nodded. “Why not? I don’t want to be alone,” I said and we both walked to the elevator and stood in silence, not even talking or looking at each other. It was awkward, very much. When we reached the building parking lot, I walked to my car, and waved bye to him and drove off.

I took a deep breath to calm my rushing hot blood down. What just happened back there? There was something that I felt inside of me that I haven’t felt in a long time. I felt…safe. And warm. I stopped when the light turned red and let out the breath that I was holding in that I hadn’t notice I was holding in.

Well at least I’ll be in my apartment, my safe haven. When I parked in the parking lot, I looked around for my purse. “Where’s my purse?” I ask nobody and rummage around the car, lifting my jacket, opening the glove compartment. It wasn’t in here. I groaned. I must have left it at O.S. Company.

I groaned and trudged up the small steps and opened the door to my apartment and walked in. “Hi Simba,” I greeted my cat who was sitting on the couch, taking a short nap. She meowed at me and jumped off the couch and padded over to me and cuddled, purring. She was a pretty cat. All black but with white paws. I love black cats. It’s like having a mini Jaguar in your hands. Let alone one that is fat and licks your face a lot.

“My first day at work sucks.” I said to her as I took out her dinner bowl and put food in it. She meowed again, probably tsking at me and she walked over to her bowl and ate. I’ve had Simba for a over a year and we are so very close to each other, woman and cat. Catwoman! Or Catgirl! Ew that’s gay. It’s like Batman and Robin together.

“And I snapped at one of the most powerful man on Earth.” I said again and she huffed her breath at me. I smiled lightly and munched on the Doritos. “I thought he would yell at me and fire me but he didn’t, he was actually…nice and very…sexy.” I said looking for the right word. Simba meowed at me twice and I chuckled, picking her up. “He’s very caring once you get to know him,” I said and stroke her soft fur.

She meowed lowly at me, giving me that disapproving look. “And I bet he loves cats,” Her ears perked up in interest and I laughed. “Come on, it’s getting late. We should go to bed,” I said yawning. The phone rang and I walked over to it and picked it up. “Hello?” I said tiredly.

“Do you always lose things on your first day at work?” Jack said through the phone, and I can tell he’s smiling.

“Jack! How….I mean…”

“Luckily the janitor found your purse and gave it to me since I know you or else it would have been in the garbage by now.” he said and I pet Simba, calming her down since she doesn’t like being carried in one arm, let alone crushing.

I loosened my hold on her and she stopped. “I don’t always lose things on my first day at work,” I said. I only lose them since you were the first I actually find myself nervous being around.

“Alright, come tomorrow morning to get it and it’ll be sitting on your desk. Bye,” he said and hung up first. I put my phone back in it’s place and trotted upstairs. “I told you he was nice,” I said when she meowed.

didnt really had time to recheck so sorry

Admittedly I was feeling too lazy to actually read this, but I was curious: Is this really how you're going to title the completed work? Because I think it's awesome and hilarious. And unique. So...I hope you do!
