When Sleeping...
Your conscience drifts away,
Your breathing slows to the speed of peace,
Your mind unravels
like an ancient scroll
and the true essence of what lies in you heart and soul
gradually begin to leak out.

Swirls of swarming thoughts cloud your mind.
They are as clear as the honest reflection in a mirror,
yet as confusing as life.
There is no up or down,
nor a left or right.
The virgin path you take
is as unique as you...
as precious as you...
it's a part of you
and although you leave it when you awaken once more,
it's powerful effect remains.

Hi! I quite like this poem, but there are a couple of things that distracted me from it. Firstly, the colour is kind of difficult to read. No biggy, it's just something to keep in mind for the future - the reader should be captivated by your words and not distracted by the colour of them. Secondly, there are a few typos or spelling mistakes in there, so make sure you use spell check.

Apart from that, I think it's good, particularly the first stanza. I like the idea that peace has a speed, and "Your mind unravels / like an acient scroll" is an interesting image, so good work. You just need to take more care when you're typing and check your work thoroughly. :)
Matt.

Hey,
Thanks Matt, for the advice! I agree that the colour was a bit distracting so as you can now see I have changed it. Also, my spelling errors have been corrected and I will definitely spend some time in the future editing my work. Thank you once again.

This is a really good poem. The imagery you used is wonderful, and I felt invested in the poem. My favorite line:
"They are as clear as the honest reflection in a mirror". I'm not sure why I liked this line, but it was good.
"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself." ~Harvey Fierstein

Beware of advice—even this.
