Back to School... How's it going?

Well, I just started classes this Thursday, and I'm sure everyone else has either already started or will be starting in the next few weeks.

How is it going for you if you have started already? Do you think this will be a good year? Have any exciting classes? Do you think school will interrupt your YWS love fest?

So far school is kind of boring for me, haha. I haven't had much to do in the way of homework and my friends are scattered about campus. I don't have a cable hook up in the room, so I have no TV, and the wifi is impossible as far as video streaming. I do like my classes so far though. I'm taking a lot - 16 hours worth! But I'm super excited. Plus, on Thursdays and Fridays I'm done before 12!!

I do think school will interrupt my personal YWS love fest, but I'm going to try and poke in on the weekends or in the middle of the week. Please harass me if I disappear for too long! I want to stay around AND I need to get back into writing again. My poor novel is so abused...

So far my scariest class is Russian. I knew it would be hard like this... but it's intimidating to actually go into the classroom and only hear Russian for 40 minutes. My brain didn't know what to do anymore. haha.

My school's been going on for well over a month and I'm loaded with work this month with our symposium (for which I'm doing a project on Synthetic Life.) and a few extra hours in the lab. It's fun, but draining. I reach home and I'm too wornout to finish any school-related assignments.

.S. I hope those two words are right. hey're the only two words I know because of reading a book by a Russian author.

Well, school....is school. I started on Wednesday, the twenty fifth, but luckily didn't get homwork till that Friday. I had to write one essay and do one math paper already, oh and label a map of all Europe. I have a lot of friends I guess....some that transferred from other schools! Its really fun, but there is already drama brewing....ew.

About my classes....my three favorites are my English class, Spanish class, and European History. In English I had to write an essay about myself, which talked about writing (duh). Spanish is fun, I love my teacher and I feel so smart being able to have a conversation (though it may be small) in another language! European History is also pretty fun, my teacher is the best, and he had all my siblings so...its really fun. Though, the first small unit (he said we won't be focusing on it for too long) is just about the geoegraphy of Europe. But the next unit is about Ancient Greece! I am really excited.

School hasn't interrupted my love for YWS yet, but it might later, bug me if I don't get on a lot. My novels are getting lonely, but I will try and work on them over the weekends and such, but so far its not working that well. Poor souls. Well thats all about my school year so far!

I went back to school Tuesday, and I'm already drowning in homework. All 4 of my honors and AP classes are this semester - not sure how that happened - so all I've been doing is studying. I have Pre Calc, English, Physics (ew) and American History. And on top of that, I'm an officer in Key Club so I'm already working on planning our blood drive for next month.

It's not all bad, though. Physics is actually kind of interesting. On Friday we dropped boxes off of the top of the stadium to see if they would fall at the same rate, and we accidentally hit a bystander. It was pretty great. And I love my English teacher. She constantly makes references to "Jersey Shore" and we spent half of our class arguing about whether or not Gatsby was a stalker in the "The Great Gatsby."

It's definitely cutting into my YWS time, though. And I'm really afraid that I'm not going to be able to fit in NaNoWriMo this year. Which will be devastating, since I actually have a whole plot outlined this time...

Classes start back up again September 23rd (yay quarter system!), and I'm looking forward to them greatly. I'm not looking forward to finding a job, though, or to booting out my volunteer time to accommodate said job. Study abroad and internships on the other side of the country don't pay for themselves, though.

But, back to my classes! I'm really, really looking forward to my Shasta class. Shasta as in the Native American language of Shasta. It's a dormant language, and I get to help restore it. Practical? No. Worthwhile? Absolutely.

As for whether school will interrupt my time on YWS... almost a guarantee I won't be on here as much. Classes, job, volunteering, my other writing site, cooking, my lack of time management, my novels won't leave much room.

Yay! quarter system indeed. Classes for me start up September 24th. I am looking forward to class fall quarter. It is actually funny now, but it wasn't a year ago when I was trying to sort stuff out. But my uni doesn't accept my fluency degree in Spanish. As in I went to Spain and got fluent at a university there. So I had to change my language to graduate in a timely manner. So, now I am taking Latin, and I'm kind of excited about it.

The classes I am taking next quarter are Latin I, Second Generation Romantic Poets: Romantic Radicalism, The English Novel: 18th Century Love Stories, and Children's Literature.

I am actually betting that I will be more active during school on YWS than I was this summer.

For me I started this past week as a sophomore at my local high school. So far so good, and the teachers don't seem so bad.
