Well, we're practically on the same boat here. I don't write poetry much either...
Well, I agree with blackrose, for someone who doesn't write poetry, your poem was still pretty good.
Although, I have one teeny-weeny nitpick.
At the end you mention guitar playing hero and that's the name of the poem but during your poem the feeling I got was more of a prince than a guitar player. Maybe you could add another stanza about how he looks or even how he plays the guitar. It's just a suggestion, though.
Overall, your poem was nice
