This is from when I was nine... so don't judge!
He’s a hero at the least, Jesus is. In fact, he’s my hero. He spent just 3 years roaming the globe, doing good deeds and serving the almighty, yet in just those three years, he changed the world forever.

Jesus and his disciples made an attempt to calm the swarming crowd. All these people had come to see Jesus, the King of the Jews. He was a king alright, but he didn’t look like one. Jesus was robed in a simple tunic and a common pair of brown sandals. Humble was the word that crossed their minds. A humble king- what an oxymoron. There was a group of children vigorously threading their way through the crowd, their eyes alight with the prospect of meeting God’s one and only son. Dust floated up from the road, blocking Jesus’ view of the disciples. When the dust settled, Jesus saw that the disciples, the ones he had chosen, were pushing the children back along with the crowd. Jesus was appalled, and called out in his fine and holy voice, “Let the children come to me.” Murmurs spread around the crowd. What kind of king would let a child see him? Jesus would. Jesus would let a tiny, worthless child see him, but Jesus didn’t think they were worthless. He thought they were special and innocent. A child to him was like a king.

A beggar man caught Jesus’s eye. Jesus motioned for him to come closer. The man cautiously stepped away from the crowd, completely aware that the entire group was watching him. He could feel their eyes boring into him, yet he could not see them for he was blind. Why would Jesus bother with a blind beggar? Because he cared. Jesus didn’t even know this man’s name, or how worthy he was of his healing hand and holy face, but he didn’t mind, because he cared. He didn’t know what evil was lurking behind this man’s eyes, but he still cared for him no matter what. Jesus spit on the ground and mixed the sand and spit on the ground together to form mud. Taking it in his callused and worn hands, he said in a gentle voice, “Close your eyes.” The man obeyed, and Jesus plastered the mud over the beggar’s eyes. Then Jesus carefully peeled it off, and commanded lovingly, “Open your eyes and see.” The man let out a whoop. He was healed! Jesus not only let the blind man see, he helped me to see too. He caressed my head and in a gesture of love, opened my eyes to see the world his father created.

Jesus was spit at, and a crown of thorns was placed on his head. Why might they do this, you ask. I’ll give you one reason: there’s no reason at all. Jesus heaved the cross up the hill, grunting with exhaustion. His muscles bunched up and he fell to the ground. The king had unjustly sentenced him to crucifixion. When Jesus got to the top of the hill, his hands were nailed to the cross, along with his feet. The soldiers set up two crosses behind him. On them were two men. “If you’re the king of the Jews, save yourself,” one of the men taunted. “This man has done nothing wrong,” the other man proclaimed. Jesus smiled and said, “Soon, you will find yourself beside me in paradise.” Then Jesus heaved himself up one last time, and called out to God to forgive the soldiers. Then he drew his final breath. It’s amazing that Jesus would forgive them after all they did to him. I would want revenge. Not Jesus.

Jesus loves me , and he served his God with his life. He took the sins of the world upon himself that day, past, present, and future. Jesus died for me and I intend to live for him.

I loved that post. I believe that he died for me too, so it was fun to read. You don't see much of that on here.

But just one question, why did you call it I live for him and then (from when I was nine)? You didn't really explain that in the post. Maybe it's just something simple that I'm missing, but I don't understand that.

I wrote it when I was nine. Sorry, I'll fix that.
