Have You Ever?

Have you ever
Bedded with the sun,
As it sets across the hills?
Looked upon its last rays as your eyes close
And dreamt as it sailed the skies?

Have you ever
Watched as day begun,
And pondered the reason why?
Asked the clouds why they follow
The wind’s whimsical wishes?
And why the sea washes the way it does?

Have you ever
Gazed at the fog while it lifts,
And followed it where it went?
Ran after a rainbow,
As it disappears under a disapproving sun?

Have you ever stopped
And asked yourself why you ignore the things you do?
Paused, ran your hands down the things you pass every day;
Sang a familiar lullaby with a new voice,
With more than just a passing thought.
Appreciated the ones you wake up to,
Imagine how awful it would be to not.

Have you ever watched yourself during the day
Listened to all the things you say,
Sit and think in simple awe,
Of how easy it is to withdraw
From this bright and friendly world of ours,
To pass on by and forget the flowers?

Stop and smell the roses;
Listen to the birds;
Smell the mountain air,
And hear the earth’s soft words.
Think on how your life is,
And the dark ways it could go,
Appreciate the good you have,
And set yourself aglow.

Hi,
I really liked your poem but i have one criticism. I'm not sure if you are or aren't intentionally rhyming the lines but in some parts it fits quite well together but in others i think you need to change it a little. I think you should attempt to have each stanza with rhyming lines or none at all.
Other than that, a very pretty and well planned out poem. :)

This is really good. I like how you went from questioning nature to the reader and then brought the realization of how to improve general things. I especially like this stanza:
Stop and smell the roses;
Listen to the birds;
Smell the mountain air,
And hear the earth’s soft words.
Think on how your life is,
And the dark ways it could go,
Appreciate the good you have,
And set yourself aglow.

Overall, good job.
If you're reading this...Congratulations, you're alive. If that isn't something to smile about, I don't know what is.

I thought this was a beautiful poem. I believe it flows really well and is very clear and descriptive.

I love it when literary works can give me a good chunk of imagery, and you succeeded with this.

Good job and keep writing; I look forward to reading more of your work!
