First off, I'd like to say a few things. No, I am not depressed. Am I actually going to send this? Well, it's a possibility. I might post it on a facebook note or anonymously send it to a few people. (In written form) Thanks guys :)

To all those who have come to me;

I have finally figured out what I'm viewed as in life. I'm viewed as a tree. Something admirable and strong at first glance. People come to me with worries, and I give them shelter and something to lean on. I shade them from the rest of the world until they're ready to face it again. But every tree weakens with time; and because I am a tree, I am expendable. Rather than support me when I begin to wilt, they keep coming for their shelter and rest. They throw their garbage at me and leave it there to contaminate the ground around me. Eventually I will not be able to keep this up any longer, their garbage will choke me out and their leaning will break my limbs. Do you know what they do to trees that have been worked to wilting point?

They cut them down and ship them off. They strip them down and slice away at the parts that haven't rotted, forcing it into something it's not. The rest is turned into firewood to be burned so that people can enjoy the flames. Part of me has already been cut away, burned for you to enjoy.

Being a tree is something I love, and I wouldn't change it for the world. All I ask is that those of you who I've helped, please refrain from snapping off my branches and ripping off my leaves. This tree is losing its strength and for once wants to be the one who has something to lean on. In other words, I love being a tree, it would just be nice for somebody to come and help me along the way.

Being a tree is incredible at first; but after the appreciation dies and the load becomes too heavy, the only thing left holding you up are your own roots, and even they can't hold on forever.

Sincerely yours,
Your tree

Hello there, Isha!

I have finally figured out what I'm viewed as in life.

Good start. I actually have to read this twice, trying to find out a mistake, it didn't actually sound good. Or is it just me?

I like it how you chose another perspective, instead of a human persona. I like too the formatting too. Okay, so, you placed here the things that normal people do to trees: cut them off, burn them or anything that withers them easier.

They throw their garbage at me and leave it there to contaminate the ground around me. Eventually I will not be able to keep this up any longer, their garbage will choke me out and their leaning will break my limbs.

This quite caught my attention. :) It's normal for people to actually throw garbage at trees but really, that's a minor problem that trees at least could have. Maybe, focusing more on the problems that relates to environment, major problems. Like as what you've stated the cutting of trees, small trees to be exact. Something like, there's a global warming because of illegal logging, something that we readers can really relate to and be aware of. Garbage is just another small thing, not really related to trees but you actually made sense too.

Also, I like it how you placed emotions here: the feeling of a single tree used as something they didn't desire to be. Perhaps, speak also the good things that they contributed to humanity. Their emotions too when they help people by making their lives easier. I like your usage of personification, by the way. :D

Lastly, check on your grammar and sentences that are quite inexplicable.

Overall: I find this a very interesting piece! :D

Hope you understand my review. he-he.

Keep writing!

Peace out!

Thanks!
I'll do some fixing and add that bit about bigger problems. Everything I say represents something; but it might be sort of difficult to dicipher.

Thanks again.

Hi! I really liked this, mostly because I can totally relate. I think you had a very good start, and the idea of doing it from a tree's perspective was, in my opinion, really cool! However, it did get a bit redundant in places where you stated some things twice, like here:

"In other words" is completely negated by the fact that you followed it with, "I love being a tree," when you had previously used the phrase, "Being a tree is something that I love."

Other than very small errors like that, though, this is a very good piece! Awesome job!

Very nicely written Isha. Though it's a bit sad It's still good. Also very truthful. You have no errors (That I can find anyway.) Well that's all for now.

You're new? Great seas! Why haven't you gone to the Buddy System yet?
