Eoin Colfer Interview

Hey it's Tamara!
I've been recently chosen to represent my school with a few other girls to meet Eoin Colfer and ask him a few questions on his life and his books on the 20th of July.
Unfortunately, I haven't read a single one of his books, but I really want to do this as it would be a great opportunity for me. I'm going to read the first artemis Fowl and read the wiki pages for the others. I'm also going to read the Wish List. If you have any suggestions of what I should say to him, please let me know!

I think you could ask him whether the characters were based off anyone, how he thought of the Lower Elements and who his personal favourite character is out of all his books. You know, just some suggestions.

Anyway, you might want to ask him what inspired him to write Artemis Fowl, and the world behind it.

How come you got picked if you've never read any of his books?

-Ask him about writing "And Another Thing", the sequel to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, if he found it difficult, or if he met with any opposition from die-hard fans who wished to keep the Guide pure Douglas Adams.

-Ask him who's been the biggest influence on his writing, and whether he thinks his being Irish has influenced him, as there always seems to be at least some mention of Ireland in his books, even if they're not set there.

-Ask him how he came up with the idea for the character of Artemis Fowl.

-Ask him if his family supported his writing, and ask him what his plans for future writing are, whether he'd like to write for films or TV or stuff.

Basically, I'm really nosy and want to know loads of stuff. Will you post again and say what the questions were and what he said?

Ask him what his writing process is.

(Also, ask him if there's going to be an Artemis Fowl and if so is Artemis going to become disgustingly pubescent and develop a crippling crush on Holly, and if so, is Holly going to beat him up and run off with Trouble Kelp... or you know. Don't ask him that. Or ask him if Juliet's coming back! Or ask him... gah, I want to know so much. But it's all irrelevant.Ooh! I know! If he was in a fight, would he rather have Holly or Butler on his side?)

Ask him what gave him the idea for The Wish List, was it fun to write?
