As the saying goes, the only thing more addictive than nicotine is a good book. Well if they're not saying it yet they will be soon, now that a German publisher is repurposing cigarette machines as book machines.

They also have Ipods and Gameboys, and other stuff, in vending machines at airports. I don;t know who randomly spends a hundred+ bucks at the airport, I mean you can't really put music on it, and if you can, you could just use your laptop to play it.

Super cool!

There's also a "book machine" now at the Harvard Sq. Bookstore in Cambridge, Mass. that prints a book while you watch...any book you can find on googlebooks the machine will print and bind and put a cover on it and everything. It's really neat.

Oh hey, I just need some change for the book machine.

Has a good ring to it, depending on the types of books they circulate around.

That is a very intriguing idea, and I think that is awesome about the book machine.

Okay, now THAT is epic. Eventually you won't need to print mass copies of books. Nor order them and wait a week for them. Book stores could just be a few booths where you print what you want.

My main problem with that Bolt is many people prefer holding books holding the object by taking that away you lose the luddites.
You poor take courage
You rich take care
This earth was made a common treasury
For everyone to share
All things in common
All people one

Epic win! :D I so want one of those things in my room. To wake up and be like, oh what do I want to read today and search through the book machine.
I am nothing
but a mouthful of 'sorry's, half-hearted
apologies that roll of my tongue, smoothquick, like 'r's
or maybe like pocket candy
that's just a bit too sweet.

I wouldn't want it to replace bookstores. I love bookstores. The beautiful thing about a book store is browsing the shelves and being to hold the book in your hands andd flick through them before moving to the next one. I understand the convenience of it, but it would make me very sad to see it replace a book store.

Quite true, though the idea of a book vending machine is cool. I'd like it in my room too, as it probably won't take up much space. :D
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

It's probably because at airports in some countries, there is no sales tax as you're not technically "in" the country. So someone getting on a long plane flight might decide to buy an iPod at the airport, to get it cheaply.
