What I never said

You were always there beside me
Even though I claimed I didn’t want you to be
Always complained on your present
But still always I on your shoulder lent

I always said you were too much
And I always avoided your touch
Told you, I didn’t like you at all
But in the end, it was you I did call

You gave me promises and assurances
I let you down, but got new chances
I said so awful things to you
Still you always stayed true

When I was sad or devastated
You stood by my side, you waited
Until I had cried the tears away
And you never left, you did stay

If I called, you immediately came
Though you knew, the end were the same
A trick from me, to get to you
To betray, like I would always do

And I slept with boy after boy
And I treated you like a toy
Still you where there when I was in need
You never hesitated to make a good deed

How many times have you seen me cry?
And how many times have you comforted me?
How many times will I let you down?
Until I realize, it was you all the time?

Too many, it got to many
Because I’m crying now
And you’re not here to comfort me
Because I let you down
And it was you all the time

I never truly felt your touch
If I had, I would have known
It was too little, not too much

I heard you over and over
Say you loved me
And not once
I said I loved you
Now I know
I do love you
But it’s too late
To hear you respond

I’m sorry, for all I never said
Sorry for standing paralyzed
When you from open wounds bled
I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry

But I’m too late
To say I’m sorry
To say I love you
To say what I never said
"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost

I thought this was a beautiful poem, it almost made me cry. I think it was very well written. I only have one critique. Throughout the whole poem, you kept a neat, four line setup. At the very end you jumped around, sometimes having 3, 5 or 6 lines. This really bugged me, just because I'm a neat freak. Overall, It was a great poem, just clean up the end. :)

Spend your days thinking about things that are good and true and beautiful and noble, and you will become good and true and beautiful and noble.
