I wonder about things
Why call it manganese?
Does it make any sense?
Or am I going sane?
Does cheese and butter
Make milk outdated?
Like bubbling mold
In an Amazon storm
Deep, much too deep
For a shallow person like me
Where did the bunny go?
A velvet hat and magic wand
Woolen gloves
Big flakes, a snowstorm
On your shoulders; Dandruff
And greasy pores
Who comes up with this stuff?
Do I honestly like plaid?
Why is my brain squirting?
Words spit out of pen.
Come together
Broken plate
Super glued for Mother’s sake
Making nonsense sound crazy
But where are the padded walls?
Egyptian cotton pillowcases
Pleather, plastic, fake
How did it come to be shoelace?
Poof!
An idea gave birth
Suddenly people just say
Things accepted for centuries
Tongue, that’s odd spelling
Like Polka dot
Why neon?
A gush of ink
Staining the page
Am I normal?
To ponder about marshmallows
And forest fires
During a nonexistent football game
I don’t believe in Santa Claus or coffee
But Angels and handicapped parking are real
What about me?
Orange soda and restraining orders
Pepper spray and stray cats
Eighties punk
Billboard Hits
Rocky road and Roxanne
Doesn’t it seem peculiar?
What perplexes you?
Plastered smiles, False advertisements
An aspiring gold digger
Marrying a bank account
Am I opposite average?
Or do I conform to uniqueness?
Mellow but loud
Can’t figure it out, can you?
Stare at the ceiling
And think about thoughts
Do you think what I think?
Or do I think too softly?
