A/N: Thanks for the feedback! Here's chapter three. I'm starting to introduce some background ^_^

Chapter three

He was mad again, now. She remembered how he hated it when he failed at something. And Eric was failing so much lately, not achieving the information he wanted. He would try; she wouldn’t say. Not for anything.

It was unbearable, her pulse was racing and she was sweating. He was trying to break her, but she wouldn’t. She could not afford to be that weak. His blood was there, an inch away from her eyes. It smelled too good, Jane started to pant. Days without blood, and now it was there, right there, in her reach.

“You’re weak, Jane. You alone can’t possibly stand for your whole race. You shouldn’t have to.” But… Eric was right, she shouldn’t have to defend her race alone. Where were the others? She had been trapped for days!

“I am not weak,” she brandished at him.

“You are. Your whole race is. For a little blood, you break.”

“I see you have stumbled across the wrong vampires.” He pressed his wound against her lips. She felt the warm blood on her skin and the desire deep in her soul. She shivered; every single cell of her was now fully awake and ready. She just needed to open her lips, and everything would be alright. She was giving in, he could tell. She had opened her lips slightly, but not enough to taste the blood.

Before he could tell what happened, he was sent flying across the room and landed with a bang against the wall and then onto the floor. It was a good push, but not enough for him to really get hurt. Eric was stronger than that, and she had known it.

Jane stood there, her fists closed and by the side of her body. It was a silent fight, and as he got up and walked madly towards her, she knew she would lose sooner or later. If not by him over powering her physical, by the fact that she couldn’t dare to harm him. Shamefully enough, she still cherished him. Too much for her own sake.

He knew better than to touch her, so he just stood there. The smell was driving her crazy. Therefore, she did the only thing she thought would work as to getting her out of there and back into her hole. She ran to the man at the door and punched him twice. As soon as he could react, he picked the taser and soon she was out of consciousness.

Jane woke up again, back in the darkness. Her head hurt and everything seemed to spin for a minute. They hadn’t killed her yet. She really thought she had done it, this last time. But they couldn’t, no – not yet. They needed the information; they needed to know how to kill her. Though they must know one of the simplest ways: if they run out of blood to drink, then they will die, although a vampire can always drink from themselves. That was why that method was rather tricky.

The body of a vampire was hard enough to break blades, that was why decapitation wouldn’t do. Bullets would do little damage, if any. They managed to penetrate the skin but there was no real wound there, for they healed quickly.

The room was spinning again, as she tried to get up. How could darkness spin? There was only darkness, so should it not give out the impression of not spinning because there was no change in what the person was seeing? Jane sat back down. It was hard for her to breathe. She had been so close to it, so close to taste it. Since the first moment she met him, she had desired to try his blood. There was no real difference between the smell of a human or the one of a vampire, but she could tell he was a human. Maybe because he smelled so good to her. The thing was, a vampire didn’t really smell the person, they smelled the blood. And while blood could smell different from person to person, it didn’t really change between humans and vampires.

The fact that the vampire race looked human also helped with the disguised. Deep within, they were mere variations of the original race. He was a human, though, and that thought was very present in her mind since the moment she recognized him to be. She thought it could work out, eventually. But now, she saw that there was in fact a big gap between them. It had stretched so far as to out of sight. He had betrayed her, lied to her, and she was as weak as to still love him. How could she allow herself do such a thing? She had struggled against it. She shouldn’t, and they had warned her.

Her friends, her family. Even vampires she barely knew had warned not to get involved with people out of their race. “It always turns out bad,” they had said.

“Well, look at you now Jane! You should have listened to them.” She told herself, sighing. Why did she have to be so stubborn as to get burned? Because that was what was happening. She fell for the guy, played with the fire and now she was getting burned. It was normal for that to happen now.

Yet, thinking of him, brought sweetness to her smile. Yes, she could smile in the middle of all this. She could smile when she thought of Eric. Like when she thought about how they met. She hated him for it.

She was playing the piano, in the room that opened to the porch and then directly to the beach. And there was someone running on her sand. Yes, because it was her sand, as much as it was her sea as one mile into the water. There was someone, unauthorized, using it. It was called propriety trespassing, duh. Normally, as her cocky person, she shouted at him. He was just running, but it was her sand, her place.

“Hey, you! What are you doing?” She was now moving to the guy, almost running, with a mad expression.

“I was running. Now, I’m talking to the lovely woman who started shouting at me,” and he smiled. The guy actually smiled after saying such a thing.

“This is my beach. You’re trespassing private propriety. I can call the cops on you, you know?” She said, eyeing him as if it was a threat.

“Then why haven’t you already?” And he mocked her, with a smile.

This didn’t happen to her a lot. She wasn’t… confronted, because she made people fear her. And this guy was going to see it.

“Very well then, that’s what I’ll do.” Jane spun in her heels and stormed back inside. She took brusque hold of the phone and started to dial, only to stop and gaze out the window. The guy was gone by then. She sighed and put the phone back in its place. Just another jerk playing around. But Jane was sure it wasn’t going to happen again.

Yet, it did happen again. Every single day for a week he’d go and run on her sand and she’d scream at him. Although she didn’t call the police, ever. He could be a creep, so what? She had super human strength. Inside, she wouldn’t admit it, but she felt lonely. About a week after, she saw him, lining up at the horizon. She was at her piano, like she always was, but she didn’t scream at him. She just watched him in distance and as he got closer, she started playing. A simple melody, nothing too skilful.

She was crying now, every memory though happy was painful. Because it changed, the situation, him, her - everything changed since months ago. And now she was there, alone, in a cell, waiting for interrogations and death by the hand of who she loved.

Now, she was alone and it was dark. It was dark everywhere she looked.
Piglet: How do you spell love?
Pooh: You don't spell it. You feel it.

Aw. You're too good! I love this story so much and today I'm going to a cabin without Internet connection. That's sad. I hate it. I hope you'll post chapter four before I get back, though. Haha. Anyways, keep up the too good work and let me now when chapter four is out, okay? Thanks.

I just have to say that I like Eric, kind of, even though he wants to kill her, i think. And I love the way you describe everything. You're very good at this. Good luck with the story!
May all your dreams come true.. (even the ones they laughed at).

Hi *writewatiwant*
I really like this post and thanks for the pm.
Nit-picking time
he picked the taser and soon she was out of consciousness.

this would sound better as
he picked up the taser and soon she was unconscious

it flows better

The fact that the vampire race looked human also helped with the disguised
this sentence is wrong it should be
The fact that the vampire race looked human helped with the disguise

Why did she have to be so stubborn as to get burned?
