but this Lone-Star State that I speak of
doesn't have consistency.
'Twas yesterday, I reckon so,
that the sun shone down on Texas.
So bright, so warm, so full of spite,
the first day of Spring mañana.
'Twas today, I do believe,
I woke up with a jolt to see
a cold, harsh wind, biting my nose
a fifty-fifty chance of snow.
"Ma!" I yelled, stomping down the stairs,
"¿Es frío fuera, so cold,
is it supposed to nieve,
is it supposed to snow hoy?"
She looked up at me, filled with glee,
although I didn't share her gain -
one must be happy when you see
mi madre smile on a Monday.
Her reply was simple, but full,
it rang in my ears for a while.
She replied with one palabra
and that word was achingly "Si."
It did, it snowed, an inch or so,
before darkness swallowed today;
el viento rose and bit my nose
no sun to guide my way.
'Twas today, I say, Texas is
officially the Lone-Star State.
But whenever I refer to it,
I'll call it by it's true name.
Bi-Polar, Texas, that's what you are,
you turn on my life like a top.
Texas, you're inconsecuente,
inconsistent in your endeavors.
'Tis why I love this state so much,
Texas tiene dos postes,
it has two poles to lean to,
