The Dreamers

This is slightly inspired by the game Psychonauts and a cartoon called Ben 10.

Plot

Life in McGee High School becomes routine. It's as cheesy as high schools come; there's some cheerleaders, some geeks, some jocks, some punks, and hundreds in between.

One night, after you fall asleep, you begin to dream. You wake up inside a cathedral, next to a bunch of monsters of all kinds. You look at your hands, and you realize that you're a monster too! After turning around to see your full self in a mirror, a man appears in front of a pedestal before all the monsters and begins to speak.

"You", he says, "Have been chosen to be protectors of the mind. You've been given these mental projections to enter corrupted minds. Enter and purify each mind you find in distress".

You wake up in your own bed, normal. But as you walk into the school, you can't help but notice that some of the students are covered with a dark red smoke, and a shiver runs through you as you walk past them. Then there's a few others, which, when you look at them, you somehow can recognize them as one of the other monsters.

What else do you have that you can do? You start connecting with the other monsters, and you explore what the man in the cathedral said. You discover that you really can enter minds, and inside you become the monster you were in the dream, and before you is a titanic creature. You keep going, and you find that minds start becoming corrupt again with new monsters, and new minds are corrupted.

Where you are in all of this? You're one of the Dreamers. After 2-3 months of nightmare hunting, the team has become slightly more divided. Not everybody likes each other, not everybody goes on the same missions, and some people leave off and explore normal, uncorrupted minds, just for the fun of it. And little do you know that the nightmares are getting stronger, and they have a new plan up their sleeves. But I shouldn't spoil it all for you all...

Rules

YWS rules, of course

Character limit of two characters per user. Not too worried about this being broken, but I think it's a good number.

No killing other characters without consent

No extreme gore, but we are destroying gigantic monsters designed from the minds of teenagers, so there's bound to be a bit of mentally-projected blood

No sex scenes, and I don't have a problem with any love, just as long as you can try and stay focused on the main storyline too. In fact, considering this takes place a good amount of time after they all met, I'd prefer if there was at least one relationship between two of the characters to start.

Lastly, and I put this in the last SB that I made, and it's important to me; any and all profanity is fine, but don't use it in every sentence. It's like putting the word "banana" into every sentence; the word no longer has meaning, and it's annoying as hell

This is actually very important; I don't know if you want to create your own monsters if you want to join this, and you can go right ahead, but I'm sure that there's bound to be some people that want to use some monster they enjoy from a video game, maybe a trading card, maybe a book, maybe a TV show, so let me make something clear; the monsters are created from the character's personalities and memories, so as long as the monster represents the personality of the character, you can go right ahead and make your monster whatever the hell you want, whether it's your creation or not. I hope you guys join in! Oh, and I'll try and get my own character up soon. Maybe I'll post up two, actually. So rock on, everybody, and have a lucky day.

Character Format

Name: Alysse Doro
Age: 17
Appearance: Alysse looks very tough on the outside. She's average sized but with a female boxer's build. Meaning she's lean but toned and rough looking. She's very imposing. She has short very layered brown/blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She has olive skin and bold Roman features. She wears regular t-shirts and cut off shorts with combat boots.
Personality: She's tough and has a darker sense of humour. She's very blunt and defiant towards those she doesn't respect. She's independent and definitely one to watch. She's a tomboy and most guys find her to be way easier to be around. She's sardonic and the first to raise her eyebrow.
History: She's a daughter of a single parent, her dad. Her mom up and left when she was 4 and so her dad raised her best he could. He tried hard to treat her like a little girl, but fell into his own ways and so she was raised with only male influence. She has two older brothers and can stand her own in a fight. She played with Transformers when she was a kid, not Barbies and around frog and snake pets not rabbits and kittens. So she's hard as a rock.

Monster Powers, Weapons, Etc: She has armour made of celestial bronze and machete-like teeth that pack a decidedly lethal poison.
Weaknesses: She's very impulsive and won't think twice before attacking.

Name: Joe Halen
Age: 16
Appearance: Joe wears tight jeans and a rock t-shirt under a leather jacket. He has medium-long, scruffy black hair and green eyes. He has a skinny build, and he's always smiling.
Personality: Joe has always been the happy-go-lucky kind of kid, but with a rock 'n roll twist. He's always happy and prepared to run into any new adventure. He never sits down, prefers to run wherever he's going, and almost always has an iPod earbud in his ear, playing only happy and energetic music; Blondie, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Queen, and a little Blink 182.
History: Not much to say that hasn't been said so far. He gets decent grades, has no reason to be upset, has two loving parents and a younger brother he plays with all the time at home, and when he found out that he'd become a psychic monster fighter, he had one word in his head; "Awesome!". He loves that he feels he's made friends with the other Dreamers, and likes to think of himself as half a leader of the group. That is to say that he does, not a lot of others. Many others think of him as a childish, overly energetic, and annoying little pest, but Joe's just too happy to notice.

Monster Powers: Extremely speedy flight and running speed, and can shoot bolts of lightning from its hands, and can give off rapid, electrified punches.
Monster Weaknesses: The armor he has is much weaker than it appears. Although he has plenty of speed, he's very fragile and small, so it makes him an easy target a lot of the time.
