I’ve never trusted pretty words
Pretty sure I never will
Forget about leading me to water
I wanna feel close to fulfilled

Pre-Chorus:
Underneath this face
Underneath this mask
There’s so much you need to know
You wanna try to hack into me (try it)

Chorus:
Let me know what you gotta do
I’m not gonna be lighting the fuse
Before you do the James Dean attitude
You may just need dynamite
Let me know how to tumble my walls
I’ll tell you immediately if they will fall
Oh, before you take out my defenses
You’re gonna need dynamite to make me senseless

I’ve never appreciated faking smiles
Pretty sure I’ll sometimes frown
Instead of saying you’re flying fine
Admit all your troubles on the ground

Pre-Chorus:
Underneath this face
Underneath this mask
There’s so much you need to know
You wanna try to hack into me (try it)

Chorus:
Let me know what you gotta do
I’m not gonna be lighting the fuse
Before you do the James Dean attitude
You may just need dynamite
Let me know how to tumble my walls
I’ll tell you immediately if they will fall
Oh, before you take out my defenses
You’re gonna need dynamite to make me senseless

Bridge:
Don’t you dare give me a whatever
Don’t you dare make me mad
All I really want is someone to say
All I really want is someone to intervene
I can’t wait for someone to bumble
I’ve really wasted so much time

Chorus:
Let me know what you gotta do
I’m not gonna be lighting the fuse
Before you do the James Dean attitude
You may just need dynamite
Let me know how to tumble my walls
I’ll tell you immediately if they will fall
Oh, before you take out my defenses
You’re gonna need dynamite to make me senseless

Pre-Chorus:
Underneath this face
Underneath this mask
There’s so much you need to know
You wanna try to hack into me (try it)

Chorus:
Let me know what you gotta do
I’m not gonna be lighting the fuse
Before you do the James Dean attitude
You may just need dynamite
Let me know how to tumble my walls
I’ll tell you immediately if they will fall
Oh, before you take out my defenses
You’re gonna need dynamite to make me senseless (got dynamite)

Won’t you tell me what you gotta do
All you really need is dynamite
I trust you to light this fuse
I think you’re the only one who’ll win
And we'll be a dream...

Whether or not you intentionally used "pretty" in both lines, I like that repetition.

Forget about leading me to water
I wanna feel close to fulfilled

I like the second line but the preceding line confuses me a little. I'm getting a more "Stop tantalizing me with very little—I want a lot, I want to be full" idea from that part.

Underneath this face
Underneath this mask
There’s so much you need to know
You wanna try to hack into me (try it)

Love the repetition in lines one and two. The "try it" in line four makes me laugh in a good way. "You wanna try to hack into me" sounds like an offer, but the "try it" part makes the narrator's subject feel inclined. xD

Let me know what you gotta do
I’m not gonna be lighting the fuse
Before you do the James Dean attitude
You may just need dynamite
Let me know how to tumble my walls
I’ll tell you immediately if they will fall
Oh, before you take out my defenses
You’re gonna need dynamite to make me senseless

I'd take out the "Before you do the James Dean attitude" line because it makes the song contemporary. I personally do not care about celebrities at all so I feel a little detached from that stanza. However, it's your work so I'm not one to tell you what to do.

Nice assonance (the do and fuse part) and I love the deFENSES/SENSEless part. Rhyming gets a little tacky when it's always placed on the last syllable so I'm glad you used assonance.

I’ve never appreciated faking smiles
Pretty sure I’ll sometimes frown
Instead of saying you’re flying fine
Admit all your troubles on the ground

The first two lines don't go with the following two lines. I like the latter because you used figurative speech (is that what you call "flying fine"? Or is it an idiom?)

"Someone to bumble" is amusing. Bumble is such a funny word, hahaha.

I'll cut to the chase because I have to get ready to sleep. I know I shouldn't put a percentage on poems (which includes lyrics) because that's being subjective, but I'd give this a 94%. Just a little polishing up to do, which shouldn't take long.

Nice job.

That's a really great song! I loved it. The first verse is my favourite. I'm not sure if it was an accident when you repeated pretty, but I thought it kinda suited well. Good work. Ever need a review then let me know. :D
The only true failure, is when you give up. ♥

I enjoy the repetition of the word "Pretty."
Usually it's lame, but in this song it works.
Well this song actually has quite a bit of repetition, but it's not repeated so much that it's boring. It's repeated enough so that it can easily get stuck in someone's head and be remembered.

This song is very raw, open, emotional and powerful. There's nothing fragile or sensitive about it at all, and though it is not stereotypically beautiful, it has it's own beautiful strength.

I regret everything.
